Now, I know most on here hate Rock Hill, or everything for that matter, but who do you think are some of the greatest basketball players that Rock Hill ever had?

Dave Hopper, Randy Scarberry...there are a few I can think of...

I'll second Jim Orrick and I believe Brock Zornes was Scott's younger brother who I remember tagging around with Scott but I never got to see him play. Of the three I mentioned plus Jim Orrick, I knew them personally and all were great ballplayers and class acts.

David Hopper, Nathan Kitts, and Brock Zornes. The Fry boys were pretty good too. Oh and K.C. Christian, maybe the best athlete RH has ever had! There were also alot of guys who were better than the guys on the team over the years that didn't play due to politics!

Well if your looking for best players ? Offense? Defensive?or all around ?

Start with offense
Scoring title. 51pts Gordy Collins n David hopper. Hopper scored his with jumpers. Collins with snow birding but still scored the points reguardless Hopper better scorer
Adam Simpson. 49. Prob best all around offensive player could create his own shot hopper was mostly set shooter I was at all of these games n would have to give the nod to Simpson cause he was the offense. Teams keyed on him n he still scored. Hopper had a great team around him. You stop Hopper. Scarberry drop 40. Stop Hopper n Scarberry Large drop 30. Stop those 3. Zornes would eat u up. Collins had Kliaber great duo But I'm not sure RH has had a better team than 89. Thst would b a better topic. Best team n why ? Scott Zornes another great scorer made north/south game. But. Only Hopper played n excelled in college
1 S Zornes 2 A Simpson 3 D Hopper. 4 R Scarberry 5 B Fry
Simply scoring

spanky long was one of the best all round athletes to come out of there...great ball handler and could shoot from about anywhere..also won three point challenge at rio grande and played college baseball for them..was also a great pitcher that was on an ovc champ team that by the way never was even given a jacket for their efforts

Basketball during the 81-82 school year at Rock Hill was the best. That is the reason I love Basketball to this day.. What a thrill to watch that team play together.. I would love to see ROCK hILL have a team like that again, but there are really not that calliber of players out there now.. So sad. Baseball and softball is the only sports they have success with these days...

Let me take you Rock Hillians back to the 1960's Danny Hass and Steve Christian as good as any Rock Hill has ever had Danny catlike quick point guard ballhandler as good as any Press Breaker Really good player Steve Christian pure shooter and scorer Great all round athlete. Trust me these boys could play I competed many times against them on the old dirt court at Lawco Lake

Now to the 70's and Coach Carl Large Dave Shug, Two Black kids from Edgemeade John Fearing who could jump as well as any white boy who ever laced them up A kid name Kouns A little shooting guard from outside whose name I cant remember I watched this team for a whole season and when they were on they were as good as any Rock Hill fans on here if you can remember the names of that team print them up.(Purcell ?????? Leroy???????) The shooting guard was McFann I believe

I thought Rick Scarberry played at Green, but his teams (as coach
at Rock Hill were very good
