There is a family that moved into that big house just before the turn to the impound lot. 10 of them. Kids say mom and dad junk for a living. Says they came from MD but have WV tags. Picked up homeless on their way here. I've been suspicious but I haven't seen any trouble.

Trash is fair game.

whose got a problem wit these ppl getting cans? i kno my mother and father in law go get cans to put extra money for food on the table. if u kno where cans are and hell ill be right there picking them up right wit them. at least they arent going out stealing s*** from cars and from houses. ppl hav to make a living wit a fixed income. these ppl tht are getting cans and junk are trying to make a living for themselves and ppl they take care of.

When you tear open trash bags and don't attempt to tie them back up, trash gets spread all over the place. It's one thing to have to dig in trash for income, but c'mon...have a little pride in your town and don't leave the bags open with trash spilling out of them (for other people to pick up).

It's also beyond me as to how people think they are not littering when they throw cigarette butts on the ground!

If they are a common fixture in your ally you should expect to have they in your garages and home next lol. Just say !! Desparate people do desparate things. Encouraging them to stay out of your garbage just might keep them from entering your house. That could be a way they case out a neighbor hood. I've lost things like my BBQ grill, yard articals and ect. because people looking for cans and junk. It will get a hell of a lot worse so get ready.

Yes, every citizen has a duty to protect their community. I am so sick of the Ironton mentality "Oh, this is Ironton.. what do you expect?" or the idea being snitch is worse than a theiving drughead. So, I expect a hell of a lot more that what I have seen My family's safety and property protection starts with me and I'll call the police when I am finished securing our safety.

It's unfortunate if they are leaving a mess behind, most I've seen going after cans don't. It wasn't that long ago while driving through the country, I seen a fellow picking up cans on the roadway. A few yards later I spotted the vehicle he was driving: a new Ford truck.
That told he was just working for some extra cash, and picking up some littering scumbag's trash that he threw out of the window. Who can blame anyone for that? Especially in today's economy, as long as they're not stealing from us?
