Little Chicago was Ironton's nick name due to Ironton's ilegal activities through the 40's up until the 60's Buck Horn street was known as the red light district.Ducky Corns was Ironton's version of Al Copone with ilegal gambling and other ilegal activities. In the middle 50's the F.B.I. made a raid on the red light district Hauled the ladies out by buses.

It is cruel and evil for you to put family names, dates, and statements like these on the internet when you clearly don't know all of the true facts about these cases!!!
You are clearly a family member. The statements made are fact, a matter of public record. See for yourself.

Just because something is put into a public record doesn't make it a true fact.

Some just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time!

Many are falsely accused of crimes.

Some have learning disabilities and do not understand what they are answering questions to or the papers they are signing. They have family and many friends who believe they are innocent.

Some have found men guilty without hard evidence. No solid proof of blood, weapon, fingerprints, or DNA evidence of any kind...or witnesses!!!

I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I had been on some of these juries!!!

I can't argue a point with you that I don't truly understand, but in guessing I would say it is about the man, Carlos. I have heard others defend him. Also does the name Farrell mean anything?

It is so wrong that it happened twice in one family! The father was out drinking with other people and the son was out squirrel hunting in the nearby woods. Both men are friends to many people and well liked by all.

He hunted in that area many times. His hunting gun did not even match the type of murder weapon used. They had no solid proof at all...no DNA, fingerprints, blood evidence, or witness!!!

A father was away from his son for years and now again...while he is a senior citizen. The son also has children. So sad!

Would anyone have wanted this to happen in their family...twice?
Not all get by with murder...some are wrongfully convicted!!!

People shouldn't brand a family by saying that murder runs in families. These kind of statements really hurt the son and lost him his freedom! Children do not need to hear that while growing up!

Murder does not run in families!

There is not a child anywhere that wants to hear a family member or anyone say that they may grow up to be a murderer because their long lost cousin, Uncle Tom, brother Dick, or Grandpa Harry committed murder.

Everyone has some sort of crime that has happened somewhere in their family tree!!!

Children inherit many things...but being a murderer is not one of them for sure. It is cruel for a child to be told anything like this could happen in their family.

You couldn't be on those juries because you are family. The old man was just out drinking huh, even if, just to witness what happened out there anyone who could watch and not do anything deserves to go down with them. But that's not the case because he admitted to participating in what happened out there.

When my father was young he worked for Ducky. So I knew all about him. There also was a man that lived on 7th street , I will not mention his name, but was a driver for Capone in Chicago he told me he had never and would never pay taxes and when I was in his home once he had several photos on his wall of him and Capone together. As a matter of fact last time I is was in Ironton there was a photo of Ducky standing next to his bear drinking a can of beer.

My dad took me where the FBI dumped all of the slot machine in the the river after one of several raids in town. That building is steal there today

When I was a child if you came down 3rd St. where the fountain is now 3rd St. was open all the way down to Meehan Steel. The Red Light District was on N. 3rd where the park is now. You could walk (if you weren't afraid or drive any time day or night and see the girls sitting in the windows looking for business. My Father had a cousin who worked on the "line" as they called it then. The girls would sit all dressed up with their makeup on and yell at the passing cars and men walking down the street. Yes Ducky Corn was a Kingpin in town. He owned a lot of things in Ironton. He owned a Night Club where the Bowling Alley is now called The Ritzy Ray and I think at one time it was called the Pink Elephant. Also down on N 2nd St. where the Horse Stables are, he built that for his daughter and named it after her "The Mary Dustin Stables. If I remember correctly he built and lived in the big red brick house on the hill side of 5th and Washington Sts. My Dad said he had big gala parties all the time and famous people came to town to attend these parties. He did a lot of bad things but he also did a lot of good things for Ironton. When I was a child Ironton was a booming town. The downtown area was full of nice stores and places to go. It is a shame that Ironton has dwindled down to a Town with nothing now. If you weren't around when Ironton was something you have really miss a lot. It was a great to raise your children and have a good time. Times have changed and so has Ironton.
I do believe the Red Light District was on N. 4th St. below Railroad St.~ Just sayin !

I was told about the red light district from my grandparents, they told me that it was on buckhorn st and that ducky corn had that business to along with every illegal thing that went on in ironton,my grandfather worked for duckg at one time and he would sit for hours and tell stories, and some i have seen on this site a.d i know that there are some people that still live here tjat worked for ducky and some woman that worked in the red light district there children, grand children are living here and working here. Now about otis jenkins killing that bruce girl he should of gotton life, that poor girl aas ripped apart, two of her cousins found her body parts and had to go back and tell their aunt she was dead, after he went to prison, her mother fought to keep him there and after seventeen years they let the nut out and then she feared for her life because she got threats from his family that she would be next, she past a few years ago but she wasnt right after they killed her daughtet so you see whp cares about them his son should rot in prison for killing that boy.they both should have to suffer the same way sharons family suffered and for the way the turveys family suffered.

There is so much more than you know. Ask a guy named Mike Nichols how his family was involved. Mike would be in his 50s now. Sorry if there is another mike nichols in I-town, but this mikes grandfather was ollie nichols. Ollie is someone i haven't heard mentioned yet.
