Man, there's some twisted thinking on here. Did you even LISTEN to the recording? He's talking about a block of voters who won't vote for him no matter what. That's the gist of this snippet of his speech. And some of you went nuts about Obama being "taken out of context" when he said, "You didn't build that." The same thing applies here. This was PART of a speech, and IMO is not that damning.

so your saying the welfare system doesn't need reformed?to many people are fourth generation welfare recipients and need booted off and the rise in disability claims ain't just returning veterans. I have to admit Romney could have worded his statement a little better to point out exactly who he was referring to in his comments.
but I like millions of other voters agree with his point on almost 50 percent getting some form of assistance is a national disgrace. And just so you don't go off like you have with that cesspool of a mouth I'm voting for Obama just for his pro abortion stance.

Romney spoke the truthÂ… you have 2 choices. You either want another Greece or you want people working and accountable.

If all the people that could work did, there would be plenty of money to take care of the truly needy.

Romney said that he thought that 47% of the United States who do NOT pay taxes cannot be influenced by the promise of less taxes....so they are likely to vote for Obama and he can't worry about that....he has to focus on the votes he CAN get.

Romney just stated the facts.

He is right in stating that Welfare recipients always vote for Democrats.

President Barack Obama has ignored the lower class.
More and more on Welfare.

We have 4th generation on Welfare and the kids have no hope unless the attitude of "the world owes me a living" stops!!!

Romney was talking about those who could work, but choose not to work. Not retired individuals or those on (honest) disability.

Romney might actually pay attention to the half of the population which currently pays all the taxes. The same population which is completely ignored by "spread the wealth around" Obama.

Greece is the cradle of civilization with centuries of rich history. America is a rude baby that wont ever reach adolesence. You should be lucky to be Greece in the long run

Let me share with the readers another deed that the evil Republican (Mitt Romney ) engaged in. A a late night cocktail party somewhere on the grounds of the Romney compound Mitt became somewhat inebriated. Then in the wee hours of the morning he took one of the young female campaign workers a courtesy ride in his automobile. Unfortunately, the car veered from the road into a stream of water drowning the young, attractive girl. Mitt was able to make it out. He made his way back to the compound. Hours passed. The next morning events were brought to light. Mitt had no explanation! But the conservative controlled media were diligent in snuffing out the news. Right wingers like Andrea Mitchell, and Chuck Todd on that openly conservative network NBC covered for that rat. So much so that years after the tragic events Mitt was idolized by fellow Republicans and pointed to as the "Lion of the Party" Pity the poor Democrats, everyone in the media is against them, the Republicans can be totally incompetent but those "really cool" folks in Hollywood will still support them. However, Mitt can do a really good version of Al Green singing "Let's Stay Together">

he's talking about ted kennedy. it's a transparent attempt at sarcasm and to make mitt romney look better because ted kennedy was a drunken womanizer.

By making comments about Ted Kennedy (dead not running for president) and his womanizing, he believes somehow he is defending Mitt Romney.(Guy who's actually alive and trying to become leader of the free world)

Now let me give it a go. Let me tell you a little story about Barack Obama. He was caught selling arms to Iran in direct conflict with an arms embargo on place with that country. He had done so in order to hopefully gain the release of some hostages and earn some cash off the books to fund Nicaraguan terrorists who were attempting to overthrow their government by force. After ruining the economy with trickle down economics the rich actually did see their incomes improve as the poor got poorer and the national debt skyrocketed tanking the coutnries economy. He's now held as a lion of economic conservatism and tough on american foreign defense.

this is an easy game to play.

On July 19, 1969, Ted Kennedy attended a party on Chappaquiddick Island in Massachusetts . At about 11:00 PM, he borrowed his chauffeur's keys to his Oldsmobile limousine and offered to give a ride home to Mary Jo Kopechne, a campaign worker. Leaving the island via an unlit bridge with no guard rail, Kennedy steered the car off the bridge, flipped it and went into the water.

He swam to shore and walked back to the party, after passing several houses and a fire station. Then two friends returned with him to the scene of the accident. According to their later testimony, they told him what he already knew, that he was required by law to immediately report the accident to the authorities. Instead, Kennedy made his way to his hotel, called his lawyer, and went to sleep. Kennedy called the police the next morning, and by then the wreck had already been discovered. Before dying, Kopechne had scratched at the upholstered floor above her head in the upside-down car. The Kennedy family began "calling in favors", ensuring that any inquiry would be contained. Her corpse was whisked out-of-state to her family before an autopsy could be conducted. Furtther details are uncertain, but after the accident Kennedy said he repeatedly dove under the water trying to rescue Kopechne, and he didn't call police because he was in a state of shock. It is widely assumed that Kennedy was drunk, and he held off calling police in hopes that his family could fix the problem overnight. Since the accident, Kennedy's "political enemies" have referred to him as the distinguished "Senator from Chappaquiddick".. He pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and was given a suspended sentence of two months. Kopechne's family received a small payout from the Kennedy's insurance policy and never sued. There was later an effort to have her body exhumed and autopsied, but her family successfully fought against this in court, and Kennedy's family paid their attorney's bills... as a "token of friendship"?

True; about 50% of the "takers" Romney insulted are people who don't pay income taxes because they don't make enough money. Another 20% are retirees. Then there are vets who feel "entitled" to medical care at the V.A. hospital, poor kids in college because of Pell Grants, etc. What an idiot, how astonishingly dumb to accuse these people of not taking responsibility for their lives, as though they're welfare cheats. Worst politician in history, no contest.

RUSH LIMBAUGH: The news media, the president, and this administration are sitting there telling us that it's okay that 90 million people have dropped out of the workforce, that 16% unemployment is acceptable, and I mean, frankly, it's tragic that that's where we are as a country.

Welfare is not intended to last you forever. It's suppose to be a safety net. Houston, we have a problem. Under the Democrats, its become a tool. A tool used to buy votes. The more people dependent upon government, the more votes they get.
