People are really dumb for leaving their car running and even dumber for leaving a child in the car.

In his defense, the car was a Hyundai, nobody ever steals those.

I've tried leaving the wife in the car while going into the store......you guessed it, no takers.

I'm sure lots of parents have left their kids in the car. I, myself never left my kids in the car when they we young, even for a few minutes. Most adults should know that something terrible could happen.

I agree. If the facts are as it reads sounds like he was at a QuickTrip type gas station and he didn't want to wake his sound....so I can't blame him too much.

But if I was the guy, and I was just running in the store for a quick second to buy a drink, I'd turn the car off. No need to keep it running if he wasn't going to be but a minute.

Leaving the car running, with door unlocked, is alot riskier than cutting the car off and taking the key.

Used to parents might do this, but now every parent is well aware you can't do it. How many kids have to die of heat stroke, get carjacked, or get out and become lost before this lesson sinks in?

Zero tolerance! If you must enter a building, you take your child with you. One moment is all it takes for the unexpected to strike. The one possession you can't replace is your own child.

I got the joke the first time. I just asked the question as though it were not Abe and Sarah because we don't know if they ever left the kids alone in the wagon!
