Wegmans says the final proposal will give full-time employees an immediate $1,000 lump sum payment.

Wegmans says it will give an 18 percent pay raise over six years.
(that's a 3% increase in pay, regardless of how the economy or the store is doing in the next 6 years.)
Wegmans says it will also include a company-based retirement package in place of the union's current retirement fund.
(say WHAT?!?! In 20 years, Wegamans will be paying for a force of retired drivers who don't drive with company profits, AND a they will still have to pay a force of drivers who only drive, but don't load or unload the truck!!!
In today's workforce, there are no more "company Pensions!" Even the military doesn't pay a pension anymore! The military makes YOU contribute to a Thrift Savings Plan, and they match YOUR contributions up to 5%.)
Wegmans should tell these crooks to hit the road, and only use independent drivers for their delivery force.
These driver just do not get it. Its time Danny tells them to hit the raod for good for the last time at Wegmans.

Only a teamster is stupid enough to believe Danny Wegman would do this!

You never get rich working for someone else.
If you wanna own a Lamborghini, start your own business and see how successful you are.
You might find that the burdens of owning a multi-million dollar company is more work than driving a truck for 8 hours a day.
P.S. You still aren't smart enough to turn your spell check on, even after I called you on it.
And yet you think you deserve to make more money than you are smart enough to earn on your own.
Typical union thug ... you think you are worth more than you actually are.
no one that currently runs wegmans had anything to do with what robert did except ride his shirttail.

LOL ... you missed the point there.

The saying is: "Shoot for the stars, and you'll still reach the moon."

But, since teamsters don't compromise (like Democrats) it's all or nothing.

Hope you choke on your Twinkie.

fortunately I was able to retire early thanks to Robert Wegman and the teamsters union pension fund. There are nothing but little shirttail riding brats running that company that have not had to do a honest days work in their lives. I see you like the word lemming> Are you a name caller if so that could be a severe character flaw.

I understand your feelings toward Robert Wegman v.s. his kids.
But it is everyone's hope that their children don't have to struggle like their parents did.

Syre, this younger generation of Wegmans may not be as sharp as their old man, but I am willing to bet they are sharp enough not to allow the teamsters to bankrupt the store.

I can live with my name calling character flaw ... How are you with dealing your lying character flaw?

I see the teamsters paid a pilot to tow a banner over the bills game that read: "Danny Wegmans hopes the BIlls lose."
Now do you really believe anyone is falling for that stunt?

No matter what you think about Unions they are a needed counter balance to organized management in the labor force. Kodak managed to keep unions out for it's entire existence. No one could honestly say Kodak has been managed well. One thing that is very interesting is how many ex manager types from Kodak end up working at WalMart as greeters. A union guy is smart enough to stay away from such jobs.

So what you're saying is that to counter balance a crooked management, you need a crooked union?
That means the consumer is dealing with TWO crooks!

Kodak management adhered to the Peter Principal: you were promoted to your level of incomptendance. If you were in a technical field and could not cut it, you would become a desk jockey and shuttle papers and act like you knew what was happening and licked the boots of the boss. This usually got you promoted to the next level where your first task was to hire a person to do your work so you could devote all your time to work on your next promotion. And you ask why Kodak management failed miserbly????

Lets face it. Wegmans is a business. Of course they don't want to deal with the union because that gives them a leg to stand on. Don't get me wrong, I have seen truck drivers do absolutely nothing and watch me unload trucks. Then again I also seen where they have helped. You can't hate on the truck drivers who have a pension, make a higher wage and have to do less work than you. Speak to your human resource department. See how far that gets you. You will be be a marked target and another person will be gladly to do your job until he finds out what working for Wegmans is really about. The human resources department looks out for the company. Not your personal interest.
Wegmans really doesn't care about the prices of name brand foods. Have you been to a Wegmans lately? They push there products like crazy. There will be several facings of there product with one or two of the competition.
I could go on and on. Don't get me wrong. Im not totally against Wegmans. Wegmans is a great place to work compared to Wal-Mart. All I'm saying is dont drink to much of there kool-aid.

Wegman's cannot afford to raise their prices. With Tops, Walmart, BJ's and other competing for my business, I will dump Wegman's in a flash for better prices.
The Wegman's store ambiance can be easily overlooked for better pricing. In fact, Walmart has a well stocked grocery section with brand name merchandise. Also, with all the Wegman's branded products (which is cheaper for them), I am having more and more difficulty finding stuff I want.
Maybe Danny can give up his Ferrari and mega house on Canandaigua Lake to fund them. I'm not contributing.
Funny but the Waltons of Wallyworld make Danny look like a pauper and you'll shop there just to screw the 'rich' Danny!! LOL!!!

Tops is union and sucks.

Wegmans and Walmart are non-union and are great.

There, any questions?

Get rid of those union bums.....before they destroy everything.
Wegmans should take some of that net ....6 billion and invest in driver-less trucks to deliver the goods.
It would be the smart thing to do and it's coming sooner than you think.
I know some of those drivers...they're retired now and they're on crack and live in nice homes in Costa Rica.
Get real ....any idiot can drive a truck. Geez

Frito Lay was out there in the worst of it and we're non union and make more money and don't have to pay dues. Also we have are own voices and don't walk around with duck tape over our mouths and pay somebody else to speak for us. We work just as hard and drive in all the difficult situations.
