I was ripped off at Precision Lawn & Garden
195 North Ave.
They charged over $180 to change oil and spark plugs on a 6HP push lawnmower.(over $120 was for labor) The mower was in good shape and only two years old. My mistake, I should have had my friend do it for $25 bucks.

Sooner or later they will pay the price.. I have experienced their labor rate myself.. The word has been out for a while it is just a matter of time before their reputation catches up with them.

I paid $350 to Precision Lawn & Garden on May 23, 2008 for pick up & delivery of a rider mower, belt replacement and battery. Used the rider once on May 28th and the belt looked like it was cut up from something underneath the mower. Needlesstosay, since the mower was just at the shop, I thought without a doubt that they would guarantee their belt placement and have some customer service ethics.... WRONG!!!! That stinkin' place charged me another $150 to put a new belt on. When I tried to dispute the bill, they didn't care one bit. They held my mower hostage until I paid the FULL PRICE of the bill. No consideration for their shoddy work and bad belt placement. What a joke...Precision Lawn & Garden are just thieves and I sure hope that people read about them prior to getting suckered like I was and totally taken advantage of and they don't care one bit.

On the contrary! I had a very pleasant experience at Precision Lawn & Garden, in Webster. I had my mower mulch cover and spring fixed, as well as my mover serviced(oil, spark plug, blade sharp etc...) for $69.95 plus a couple of dollars for parts. I thought that Charlie and Josh were honest and pleasant people to deal with. Most of all, my mover was ready the next day. My neighbors have used "Precision Lawn & Garden", for years, and I will be back. Thank you -

They are soooooo incredibly rude. i called twice and was given the brush off each time.First the girl was rude to me then the guy!!!!!!! stuck -up Websterites!!!!!!!! All the same!!!!

WOW!! Either you folks were grossly overcharged
or I and some of the other shops in our area here
in our area is charging WAY too little!!! We do have one shop in our area that sounds just like whom you're posting about and they're so busy they're weeks behind!! What am I doing wrong??!!!

I notice that every 10th "review" is a glowing one of Precision. I have to expect that these are "planted". Precision has the luck of being in one of a few growing suburbs in Rochester (Webster). They also have connections with the Webster village (e.g. mayor and B family)(not the Town) and they are basically ripping off all the new people in town and are well placed to take advantage. It's pretty plain to see when you think it through----
I went there 10 years ago and they have benefited from owning legacy property just inside the Village limits.
No mortgage, newbies in Town + need Mowers/Blowers
= rip people off and shrug their shoulders because they have nothing to worry about.

P.S. Give the old boys network in town a good deal, rip all the newbies off with high variable labor costs. Think about it...Nobody can "prove" your same repair didn't take 2 hours but mine was 15 minutes labor!

Likewise ripped off... took in snowblower for service, hundreds of dollars in repairs, a week later it's dead, and they charged me again!

Took my mower(I purchased from them) in a couple of years ago for repair. They "fixed" three other things - for $500 - before they finally fixed the problem for another $180.

I have 2 tales about these thieves:

1st, about 2 years ago, I had a Honda push mower that kept stalling when warm and under load. I could get it to run (but not well) by partially engaging the choke. This tells ANYBODY that the fuel/air mixture is lean. Assuming it was an internal carb problem, I took it to them because they were close to where I worked at the time. I get the mower back a couple of days later-they tell me that it was a faulty gas filler cap-charged me $75 for it, and never even looked elsewhere (I know-I put nail polish on all the screws on the engine-none were broken open). Oh, they also ran my full gas tank dry, as well. Of course, the NEXT DAY, the mower crapped out on me, and I took it to a more reputable shop. They told me that my carb was very gunked-up, and they charged me $75 for a thorough cleaning. Of course, I complained to Precision, and they just refunded me $30 for labor, still charging me $45 for the cap I didn't need. In the end, they charged $30 to simply start my mower, and walk away, leaving it to run for probably 4 hours.

Well, last week, I thought I needed a starter for a Tecumseh 2-stroke snow-blower. Brighton mower wanted $135, but I called around to see if I could get it cheaper. Precision is a Tecumseh authorized dealer, so, I just decided to see if they could sell it cheaper. Would you believe they wanted $250 for the same starter? What a bunch of thieves!

So, if you go to Precision, I can't guarantee that they'll be able to fix your device (or even that they'll try to), but I CAN guarantee you that they'll charge you an exorbitant amount of money, regardless.

Precision anything has always been the same. presicion auto, precision sound and now presicion lawn. WHATEVER THE MARKET WILL BEAR. I bought an alarm system for a work truck used in the city. It wouldn't work Went back ,was told the radio towers,there cause interference. I needed a better MORE EXPENSIVE UNIT. OK. Not surprised. HERE IS THE SURPRISE... Charlie (owner) ASKED ME WHAT I PAID FOR MINE!!!! What the hell? Isn't there a listed price? NOPE. IF YOU LOOK LIKE A SUCKER, you pay more. Interesting lesson learned.
Now at Precision Lawn...... we can order that for you. PAY IN ADVANCE. When parts came in, I had to pay an $8.00 shipping fee. SURPRISE . NEVER TOLDE WHEN I ORDERED AND PAID. coulda done this at home online. Same ole Precision...... bend over. They grease you the first time.

They are layers and donít tell the truth. They donít even try to make the customer happy when they screw-up. Itís all about Iím write your wrong have a nice day. Bad customer service. they don't keep good record keepeing and don"t know how to pick up a phone and give the customer repect and say hay you need this that or the other, while your machine is being worked on.Lost merchandise, not my problem
they need to go to school to learn how to run a buisness.

I too,think Precision are inept and money grabbers! I had my tiller repaired there.They held it for 5 weeks to replace a pinion seal.They also replaced the tine seals which I DIDN'T authorize.the bill was $260!! 2 hours labor to replace a seal.
Anyway when they finally delivered it,I couldn't start it because there was no neutral.I discovered that they put the pinion pulley in backwards!! Now,I'm not a mechanic,but a blind man could see it was put together wrong!!The drive belt was extremely tight--no play and the direction belt was just hanging there.What kind of mechanic does that kind of work.The bill says they tested it and it was ok.BULL--NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE!!!!

I have been using precision for over 15 years without any of the problems I see posted. Somehow these people did not get what they thought they should have .I have always been pleased with their service which is why I keep using them ! After being in business in the same area for so many years they must be taking good care of a lot of happy customers or they would not survive !

Ive been to precision a number of times in The last 20 years. Im a Small Snow Blower/ Lawn Mower Shop Owner in Gates. I have never had a problem with them. I know they have cleaned up" The Staff.
Justen Is a current employee that I have found to be one of the Most Honest Guys I've ever met. I bought Three riding Mowers on 3/18/14 Tuesday and am Very Happy with them. Im going back on thursday to buy a few more.
As for the unhappy customers you must ask to be contacted before ANY work is done on your Machine. If your not happy with the price ,Take it to Titus Mower!
Anyones Hourly rate just seems High. OR YOU TUBE It!
