As reported in the D&C tonight: The Teamsters Union has rejected Wegman's final offer of a 18% pay increase over 6 years and a one time $1000 bonus. I say kick them and their union to the curb and hire non union people who want to work to do the job of trucking and transportation. Wegmans is a privately own company and should not have to kow tow to the demands of a corrupt, gangster lead union. God knows there are enough unemployed people who would love to work for this company.

Those teamster woodchucks just bit off more wood than they can chew. I hope they have fun sitting on the side of the road watching their jobs get replaced.

In this job market Wegmans can get drivers at half the pay and benefits. Greedy bastards, I hope they are all out of a job. Most of us do not have pension plans. What the hell do they want? They are a small part of Wegmans.

A 3% pay increase for 6 years and they still will have a pension plan. WTF do they want? Time to hire some new drivers. Its Hostess Twinkies time.

The problem is the Union will no longer have control over the money in the pension fund.
The leadership sees this as a threat over control of the membership/employees, or the first step in getting rid of the union at Wegman's. The pension fund is more or less the leaderships "slush fund".........
For every dollar that currently goes in to it only .46 cents comes out.

People today are catching on to how corrupt the unions are.

They are meeting more and more opposition as time goes by.

If the people in the unions were smart enough to see the corruption, they would have voted to be fair with Wegmans.

But, by definition, union members are not smart enough to think on their own.

so the "administrators" suck $0.54 of EVERY dollar and Wegman's wants to control it for their own employee's futures. And, the union heads are upset.
Seems like the union lemmings should kiss the ass of every Wegman's fiduciary fund officer and get back to work.
idiots.

It seems every comment that states the reality of the siuation is label and judge with a clueless, nuts, and disagree label. There must be some really teamster lovers out there. They love supporting their leaders in a luxary life style they themselves will never enjoy. Remember Las Vagas was built using Teamster Union money stolen by Jimmy Hoffa from the retirement fund.

That's why, I will NEVER give to the United Way again; their admin costs are WAY overboard.
Same as these union lemmings giving the money every pay period to the OFFICERS.

I still can't believe an Illinois Democrat made it to the top job.
The most nefarious, snake-biting, low-down belly scraping, snake oil selling scoundrel of a politician; and he's running the country into the ground.
We really deserve this.
We let it happen.
The entitlement "crew" got out there and voted, and we snoozed thinking there was no WAY he would get re-elected.

Back in the day when I was a loyal Kodak worker, I refused to contribute to the United Way when it was disclosed what the head of the United Way management was making and all the perks he was receiving from the pockets of the working man. I was regularly called in to the office to defend my position as I was making the numbers look bad. I stated my position and management left me alone. They knew I was right, but would not admit it.

The Chi-Town political machine is nothing to be played with.......it has gotten more than few few Presidents elected.
The "we" are fast becoming similar to the dodo bird, politically........as far as the crew.....white women cast the most deciding vote in getting him reelected. The "we" has completely alienated them.
Apathy is the least of the "we" problems.

There should be a test voters have to pass to prove they are aware if the current political issues ... but right now, you don't even need ID!

I know Mickey Mouse votes early and often at these elections!

Uninformed voters and zombies who just vote their parties have no business at the voting booth.

misery loves company although i prefer not to join you. what i will say is that the union members have to work 10,20,30.... years to collect a pension while some of your government elected officials work (i use the word work loosely) only 2-4 years and get a full pension and paid health care that you pay for. I doubt you have contributed anything towards their pensions so stop hating. also if you think you are contributing by shopping there, go elsewhere there are plenty of places to shop. Cheer up there is life after dishwashing.

Really? that's your best argument?
What you are saying is that you are not as bad as those corrupt politicians?!?
Well, that's something to feel good about!!!
YES, my shopping money does end up going toward YOUR pension, that's why their priced keep going up!
And just like corrupt politicians, YOU didn't have to put anything into YOUR own pension either.
In this economy, employer based pensions are going away.
Even government employees have to contribute to their own 401ks. YOU teamsters are holding a good company like Wegmans ransom for more than what is fair!!!
A union member's sense of self importance and the bully methods they use to get their way is nothing to be jealous of.
If anything, it is YOU who should be ashamed!

no arguing here...I contributed $4.82 per hour of my own money into the pension. Remember....Wegmans has lots of money and therefore can control much of what of what is available for you to read. Trust me....they are not one of the best companies to work for if you ask the majority of the workforce. Going back twenty years they were a great company to work for. Now, they are a corporation with lots of power and no longer stand by the slogan 'Our People Make The Difference'. They don't care about that anymore...too bad.
