Jack Moore bends to the few in the Ban the Casino Group. Henrietta is a dump anyway. To bad they do not ban all the Asian happy endings in Henrietta. Now we will see what Lovey will do. Charlotte or Downtown? How about the Port Of Rochester?

I couldn't believe that Henrietta was gonna use taxpayer's dollars to buy this land.

According to an audit by the town comptroller, they OVER CHARGED the taxpayers of Henrietta, and they now have a surplus of cash on hand.

Instead of giving that money back to the taxpayers, they are gonna buy land and open a casino?!?

Who gets the money made by the casino? I but it wouldn't be the taxpayers who made that investment!!!

The Indians are as much to blame for the casino failure because of bad process. They came in unannounced looking for a site. Didn't consult with officials who were caught off guard. Big public meeting at Henrietta City Hall. Purchased land afterwards, anyway. Then when Moore announced a NO, the politically dumb a$$ Senecas played victim: "We didn't have a chance to tell our side." Geeze.

The mayor has already announced a no for an Indian casino because of sovereign nation.

Hey, that might work. Not too big to ruin restaurants in the area. Keeps the Port hoppin' in Winter too. Toronto doesn't want a casino, so the Ferry Casino was politically dead.

That's not what the surplus was going to be spent on. Instead of giving it back to the taxpayers as a one time tax rebate; they're going to put it towards the purchase of the Dome Areana.....using it to purchase land for the Seneca's wasn't on the agenda.

When taxpayers don't push back, and just rollover, money gets wasted.

Instead of complaining, we should be demanding, in large numbers, that tax revenue is conserved - and spent strictly on non-commercial projects (law enforcement, fire, sewers, water, roads etc).

Whining on this forum is never going to impact poor decisions executed by politicians. Only when we (white, black, Republican and Democrat) let them know we are fed up, bad investments of our money will continue unabated.

Don't be fooled by the political song and dances rest assured there will be a casino in Henrietta do the fooled sheep really believe the Seneca Nation would have pealed out almost 3 million for some land if they weren't already promised they can build the Casino?

Either Moore is a liar or both he and the Senecas are dumb as rocks to think people wouldn't get worked up, especially since the Town Council said they didn't know anything about this.(Moore did say that he hadn't seen any proposals). Aren't these the same Indians who rolled tires down onto the Thruway over cigarette taxes? Same tribe that tried to take back Grand Island as their reservation? Held up paying casino money over non-Indian run casinos in NY? Built their own parking garage and hotel in Niagara Falls when hotel rooms go unfilled and the City parking garage is right next door? Are these the folks that should be building a casino in our area?

The Seneca's have been talking to Moore from the beginning. This whole "babe in the woods", "they're back dooring the process" is BS. Like NPC said, this is almost a done deal.
Watch for another property to be bought by the Seneca's and be donated to the Town. Guarantee he and the rest of the sheeple fall in line.
All the things they're worrying about are all ready in Henrietta.....pawn shops, smoking parlors, drugs, prostitution, robbery, murder, ect......Until recently it was never heard of....."those people" are well adapted at hiding their dirty laundry. There's reason why out of all the MCSO patrol areas, there's more cops in Henrietta(B Zone) than the other two zones combined.

If Moore was smart he would be working out "sweet heart" deals with the Seneca's that benefit the Town. For instance a healthcare and/or pension subsidy for Town employees to take the burden off of the Taxpayers. Here's another. The whole idea of jobs and attracting more investment is BS.....unless those opportunities are exclusive to Henrietta residents and companies.
I ranted enough....I'm out!

And how did 'No More Casinos' find out about this casino land grab and supposedly even before the Henrietta officials as the City Council claim? "I have no proposal" said Moore. This STINKS. It was really stupid to keep this under raps.

First of all it is only a matter or time before the casino is built. The indians would NOT of bought the land unless they had a guarantee that this would happen. I am sure there will be trade offs with the town of Henrietta but you can take it to the bank , a betting term, that the casino will be built.

As far as how it might the area one only needs to go to the Scranton Pa area and take a look at the casino that is connected to the racetrack there. This is a area much like the Jefferson rd area and the casino compliments the area well and ALL of the restaurants and hotels in the area just do fine.

And to those nitwit's over at the no more casino groups these people all have current ties to finger-lakes and batavia and will clearly be hurt bad by a full fledged casino in the Rochester area. But all that will do is through competition make all involved in the casino business work harder for customers and this group wants no part of this.
