Salvatore's at the Garage Door on E. Ridge/N.Clinton

Carmines in Greece

Campi's on Scottsville Rd was on Man Vs. Food , TV show w/ Adam Richman

Philly Steakout at Longpond and Ridgeway has authentic Pat's King of Steaks syle from Philly. Even has Cheese Whizz

Sully's on South Ave next to 490 has a Rib-eye sandwich.

Skip Campi's.
Was great years ago.
Not so much recently.
Service is s-l-o-w as h-e-l-l and the food is so-so..
I very much crave an outstanding Philly cheesesteak locally. DiBellas is OK, but I want more.

Pat's was very good but I would still take Genos over Pats anyday of the week. One of the best Philly cheese steak around here was, believe it or not,was Bill Greys on Buffalo Rd.in Gates. The Philly stakeout on Longpond wasn't all that good a few years ago, maybe they got better, not sure.

I remember you could go and get a good steak sub in Rochester, but now, it's not the same. Mojos are ok, but I want that real taste and experience. Big juicy steak with chunks of meat. Any ideas? I heard guidas on empire blvd, maybe I will check them out
The guidas in Hegedorns had really good subs.
Then i went back and they were smaller, for the SAME price.
I will never go again.

New owners a couple years ago, good guy, quality is very high again and food is excellent. Work just down the street and it was that or the Sal's Birdland, both excellent so it was a good location.

I stumbled upon this old thread after eating a VERY good steak sub recently. It came from this restaurant that most people on this thread or site would not dare venture. R Pizzaria is the place. North Street and Cleveland Street.

Outstanding steak subs.

They unfortunately moved to Fairport Village and are no longer as convenient. I would recommend them, though.
