Windows 8.1 works great for me, Best OS Microsoft has released. Rock solid.
You are right...it is rock solid. But the problem is the human interface. People are resistive to change. They can't make the change to the Metro interface ie: colored tiles. The learning curve is steep at first. Things are not in the places you are use to with older versions of Windows. That is why MS will be bringing back the Start Button and Menu with the soon to be released Upgrade 1.

I agree with your assessment. I have been very satisfied with 8.1, and the upgrade will solve the final issues for most users.

To make a blanket statement that it is unusable is ridiculous. Demonstrates the deep ignorance of a small slice of PC users.

Why do you think so many companys have canceled orders and put off buying new computers if windows 8 is so great.
A simple google search shows windows 8 has not gone over well at all.

If you can't wait for the upgrade package from MS, a company call Bit I/O makes a utility called Start 8 that will install a Start Button and reintroduce the Start Menu. I use it on all the 8.1 OS I work on. People are generally pleased.
