Passenger in Gates DWI crash dies

The passenger in the DWI crash on Spencerport Road in Gates has died. Gates Police confirm that 23-year-old Anthony Mastrodonato from Spencerport died Tuesday night from injuries he received in the crash.

verry sad, 2 young people lost this week to a DWI. verry sad.

time to educate on the benefits of a designated driver. this should not be happening with this frequency. how about the bar they were in, any camera? any responsibility for them to watch over the patrons? were they racing? were all 4 people in both cars drunk? answers that we will probably never know, a life taken way too early.

This story, and those like it, are so sad because they could all easily be avoided. If there had just been a designated driver!! My thoughts and prayers go out to the families involved. I know what it's like to lose a loved one, but when it's so sudden and someone with the rest of their life ahead of them, it's always that more tragic.

Do you really believe taxing everything is the answer to all problems.Driving with cell phones is a problem,tax cell phonea.This way no one can afford to have one,problem solved.The goverment has its hands in my pockets for enough stuff.As long a people go out and drink,some will drink and drive.

Are you for real? Does it really matter where these kids were from? Do you truly believe the headliness would differ pending where they lived? How about you cut the sarcasm and send your condolances to the families who are grieving right now. Why? Because, both families lost their young sons. Isn't that the issue at hand?

I personally do not care where these boys lived, the color of their skin, their ethnic background, etc. I just care they died unneccessarily. Both of these deaths could have been avoided.

I hope every one of their friends have learned a lesson from this horrible tragedy. STOP DRINKING AND DRIVING...

Another innocent life taken by the dumb decision to drink and drive !!!

If you got to have that drink - then pick a designated driver or better yet STAY HOME ! Isn't it cheaper anyhow ?

The sad part is that its preventable -just don't drink and drive - pretty simple.

I'm sorry for this young man to lose his life. As we sit here getting a grip on the grief over our child's friend who has just killed this weekend, I read this. So, more families and friends have to endure what we are experiencing. So sad.

Enough already, start thinking of those who survive with injuries and those who will lose their life by that decision to drive after you have been drinking.

Just have a friend drink pop/coffee or water all night and have them drive - its really no biggy having a DD - its the smart thing to do.

I've been through the pain of losing a friend to a drunk 13 years ago. Two years ago my family was hit by a 20 yr old drunk driver. Enough is enough! Something needs to be done & everyone needs to be more responsible!!

I went to summer school with Mike McLevy ten years ago. He was a weird kid. Does anybody remember when him and a couple of his thug wannabe friends broke into an elderly man´s home and beat him up? This happened when I was in high school. I also went to WE-MO-CO with one of Mike´s ex-girlfriends who is currently serving time in prison for vehicular manslaughter.

Nicole, this was an unfortunate chain of events that could have been prevented. Mike McLevy has been a criminal ever since he was a young teenager. Like his father Brian, he is never going to change. Anthony Mastrodonato should have called his mom or dad if he needed a ride home. It would have saved his life. Trusting someone like McLevy would get anybody killed.
