Do I have a good chanec of being approved for a small auto loan through my credit union?I recently had my car stolen on New Year's eve. I had a lease purchase on the car and still owe about $6000.In the mean time, it is imperative that i have a reliable way to and from work, so I am interested in purchasing a vehicle from a close family friend;only problem is that I'm short on cash! I'm 20 years old, single with no children, i rent monthly, and I have a decent job where I make about $34,000 a year, but unfortunately, like most people my age, my credit is shot to hell! My current score is about 560, and the only charges that i have to my credit report are my car loan, a cell phone bill, a gas bill, and a medical bill(not much to go on). Based on this info, do you think i have a good chance of being approved for a $5,000-$8,000 car loan from my credit union, which i have been a member of for about 2 and 1/2 years, maintaining a savings and checking account, and direct deposit?Someone please help or give some advice as to what someone in my situation should do. Please , no smart alec answers. This is a serious inquiry and i would prefer serious, mature answers only. Thanks!
