Just give human resources a written letter requesting the Company to stop taking dues out, and send CPU a letter stating that you are withdrawing your membership.

"Scab": a strikebreaker, a person who works despite strike action or against the will of other employees.
A "free rider" refers to someone who benefits from resources, goods, or services without paying for the cost of the benefit.
__________
Our best hope is to go forward, united in the CPU. If you want changes, get involved and work to bring them about. The USW has no standing in the mill at this time; beating the drum for them is wasted energy.

I understand that there will be another vote this summer to see who will represent the Covington employees. This will be the last time a vote like this can occur until 2018,so if we don't get the USW back in now before our next contract we will all suffer for along time with the CPU. Whatever they get or shall I say don't get at contract time will be our fault, because we let pride stand in the way of doing what is right for us and our family. Do you really want CPU to be in charge of contract Negotiations with your livelihood at stake , with the possible sale of the mill in the near future. Do you really think the can do the best job for us ? The past four years say's no !

Another vote? Really? Whomever wins, will the other keep petitioning for another vote until they finally get their way? This is a never ending cycle. Why don't you just put this wasted energy to good use and go after the company. You're all acting like a bunch of kids- "I want a revote, that one didn't count". No matter what happens, if you're not a union member then you don't have a gripe. If you really cared you would try to make the union stronger. Whether you like it or not, the company does not recognize the USW, CPU is the bargaining unit. If you really feel so strongly against the CPU and it's brothers and sisters, then put your name on here so they know where you stand. If not, then you can't be taken serious.

So, here we are..........in reviewing the comments in this thread, it seems obvious that we will be unable to unite, and put our differences behind us. You are right from your side, and I am right from mine..........and we are ALL the worse for it. "We must hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." And so it goes..........

Your only going to be so strong with an international like the AWPPW, they are a small Union with little resources. And please don't tell me about all the money they have or all the members because that is a bunch of bull ! CPU put that crap out during the last vote to try an make it sound like the AWPPW had all this money: but the carpenters Union has the money not the AWPPW and not CPU. If you really want to unite everyone you would try to find a way to compromise and get both sides together instead of saying we won the vote, because really what did you win with half the membership. We need a strong international like the USW to back us in Covington and I know your going to say negative crap about them, but the fact are facts ! IF you think they did something wrong get involved in the Union and believe me no international is going to do something that you don't agree with unless you let them. When something is not working like the CPU/AWPPW then you need to change or the outcome and the score will be the same. MWV 20 Covington workers 0 and that's a fact !

You would have to be a Complete idiot to give both up just for 12's. Think of how much money you would be loosing just off sunday pay alone. And when people go on vacation its not wednesday to Wednesday. That split week bs dont work. People need to wake the hell up and get there head out of there ass!!!!!!
