(Opinion) Justice Department: U.S. Border - Underprotected,' - Easily Breached'

Judging from recent reports by the National Drug Intelligence Center, you could come to the conclusion that Mexican drug cartels can do something the U.S. government cannot: control border crossings.

Maybe if the USA gave about a mile wide strip of land the entire length of the Mexican Border to ANOTHER country---

that then the USA would put USA Troops in it---

to protect that country Borders as the USA will protect ANY COUNTRIES BORDER/COAST LINES IN THE WORLD with the USA Military EXCEPT the USA Borders/Coast Lines.

Good point Disgusted. I read the article from Army times.

So what was the point of the article anyway? It says: you could come to the conclusion that Mexican drug cartels can do something the U.S. government cannot: control border crossings.

Now why would they do that? It's like saying store owners have figured out a way to shut out customers. Why would anyone with product to move cut off it's customer base?

Or is the article simply illustrating how rampant and corrupt the border war is. Seems to me, in todays world of technology and construction means, coupled with a close association with and desire to use black ops teams, this would be an easy fix. Unless they don't want it fixed?
