life in Ipswich

Sorry for the passing of John Updike. He was a most gracious gentleman, a fine friend, member of my church,the Congregational Church in Ipswich.
We were singers in the Newburyport community chorus, and dancers at the Crane Estate. Our children swam at Cranes Beach and played and schooled together. Life was good. I will miss him.
