If these two old gals think lunch at the Highland is great, they have no credibility in my book.Worst Restaurant in the County.I would rather go hungry than eat there.I can't imagine how bad the places they did not enjoy were, must have been real slop. Hard to believe any place worse than the Highland.Awful food,Awful service,Awful,Awful atmosphere.

You must own a competing reasturant. The Highland is a great place for an Italian lunch or dinner. The folks who own and /or work there are down to earth great people . The food is good , the service is always great and the prices are fair. The fact that they are always busy speaks for itself. It can be a bit noisy(probobly because it packed with people), but always enjoyable.

I agree with I like to eat. Average Joe must be of the same age and ilk of those two old Gals, He must have burned out taste buds, and no sense of what a real Italian Restaurant serves. The people that frequent the Highland do it out of habit, or for nostalglic reasons, not for the quality of the food.

Yes, but to keep this good quality restaurant going, we must pray for continued success in this downturn in economy, hopefully the custumers will keep supporting it,Peace.

It sure is nice to see the elderly enjoy them selves so much, and get a little press too.Maybe they could put their heads together on a book, and make those lunches tax deductible. The best of both worlds!Come on Ladies what do you say? Were dying to hear some of those lunch time conversations, along with a restaurant review or two.

I have a relative whose group goes to the Highland all the time just for the "scallop sandwiches".

I think it's time that I tried them!

OK Jae, that's why they've been open since the 1930's and you're closing soon. Sour grapes, or should I say, rotten fish?

The Pittsfield City Motel has been there since the 1950's or 60's that doesn't mean that I want to stay there. What's your point.Longevity does not always mean quality. Some times it means CHEAP FOOD.

Pasquale Arace says "frozen is fresher than fresh" does the Highland Restaurant serve any non frozen food or is all of there food "fresher than fresh".Please tell me why any of the local markets bother with the fresh meat counters or the fresh seafood counters when we all could be enjoying "fresher than fresh"frozen selections. Please Mr.Grocer get rid of those fresh veggies and give us nothing but frozen. Pasquale says, they are "fresher than fresh".So for the freshest, frozen meal around visit the Highland.

Funny stuff. Frozen is fresher. What world is that in?The Highland has gone way down hill in recent years.I haven't been in a while, maybe they are doing it a bit better.I'll try it again, people seem to like the scallops.

All I can say is... frozen scallops? the 99 (chain restaurants are hardly berkshire cuisine)?? THROWING food in a restaurant's bushes? Where did the Eagle find these ladies and who are they to critique restaurants? This article is embarrassing...

Oh and noise level is not the most important thing.. food quality, taste, service, and ambiance are much more important.
