You know..

This isn't news.. its gossip...

And I think to be FAIR, that all these local reporters should be followed around and their personal dirt aired for all to see.

Like the one who is a drunk, been arrested many times for being drunk, and is a mean drunk to boot.

And the other who can't stop themselves from shoplifting, been caught more than a few times.

Or the one who had many domestic disputes, some physical, with her then boyfriend, but never press charges.

And the one who lied about some of her stories and no one verified them before airing.

And on and on ....

Maybe then they could understand the difference between gossip and news.

Granted he came forward, why? Who knows, maybe because in this day of Gossip news, he may have felt this was the best way to keep the flames down?

There really wasn't a good positive story somewhere that could have taken the space this "gossip" did?

Additionally,, reporters always get it wrong, IF you want even a chance of being quoted accurately.. you HAVE to write a statement, and not make any verbal contact with them. Even then good luck.

Now that all said.. yup, I read this gossip too...

No...the Dems (ala slick willie and kwaame Kilpatrick) just twist it all when they can caught with their weenies out.."its a conspiracy"...Its because I am black"..."it happened between consenting adults you know" (never mind YOU SWORE UNDER OATH IT DIDN'T HAPPEN...never mind you broke the law when YOU SWORE UNDER OATH IT DIDN'T HAPPEN). It's only about sex, after all. Poor Dems..they are all victims and thats all they pass on to the American people "I am a victim, just like you" let the government take care of you.

None of these people did this because they are republican or because they are democrat. They do it because they are self righteous, pompous, slimeball politicians. Being an honorable politican with high morals is like being the skinny kid at fat camp. You need to worry about the issues the parties/candidates support/oppose when voting because regardless of how great they appear, the skeletons will come out, the bathroom toe tapping will commence, someone will talk about the affair, the former drug buddy will speak, it is just a matter of time.

I would agree that this should only be considered gossip, however, he does belong to the party that tries to legislate morals and the party who preaches family values blah blah blah. As long as republicans keep making moral behavior part of their platform to be elected, then they are fair game when they are called out in the media on their own bad moral behavior.

Oh yes, when you are seperated, you are still legally married by the way. What an insane excuse for horrible behavior.

What is wrong with you people...of course what a public official does in his or her personal life matters. It points to MORAL compass and character. In your arguement, if he liked to wear women's clothes and dance a jig "in his personal life" it shouldn't matter. You are obviously too personally involved to be objective. Find another candidate to support and let this one be.
So it is the republicans that we must be concerned about regarding their moral compass? I assume the democrats are given a pass on this because they have no moral compass to begin with? I don't agree with his actions but the hypocrisy is just amazing here.

But in the end most people don't vote anyway so he should have just stayed in and let the gossip mongers have their fun.

A married man had an affair, it doesn't matter than he was running for office, he made the decision to run for office, and to be with another woman. I hope things work out for all of them. The three parents have to make their future plans. The man is screwed either way as I see it. He pays support on one child or on two children. Let's not forget about the Woman who was a willing partner in this escapade. She was with a married man.
My post brings to the surface the single one thing that is wrong with our society and values (We have lost them). We all know how to play by the rules, but we don't. This man isn't a felon, but he did commit adultery, that law is still on the Michigan books, but I don't believe anyone ever gets charged with that.
Somehow, we all have to bring three things back to our nation and society. The Truth, Values, and Respect for others. With that, we might have a society that everyone will be proud of and there wouldn't be 150 different opinions on this matter.

Give it up pal, the GOP is full of these righteous jerks that hug Falwell on Sunday and can't keep their zipper up the rest of the week. The funny part is that everyone knew Bill was getting some action on the side, no one knew the GOP had their closet pedophile, Foley, and their closet bathroom queen, Craig. Bill was getting it from a 20 something that transferred to the White House to get into his knickers. Foley was preying on young interns and Craig is, well Craig is Craig. Anyone else you West MI GOP types want to out today, lets hear it, any other fornicating adulterers on your ticket.
How' bout ol' Newty (Gingrich) who was leading the Clinton impeachment witchhunt while carrying on an extramarital affair of his own at the same time. What a FREAKIN' hypocrite!!!!!

Right on. Can you believe we have heard both the "they were separated" excuse and the "family values includes a little on the side" excuse for this guy. Show me where those excuses are in the Bible.

Newt was the leader of the pack. Don't forget Bob Barr. He is the Libertarian Candidate for President. Back when he was a Repub he had one of the loosest zippers in D.C. It's ok now that he is a libertarian. Old Strom Thurmond had a child with the black maid back when he was a Dixiecrat. One guy almost became Speaker before Hassert but oops he had a zipper problem too. Then there is my personal favorite, Henry Hyde. He was shocked absloutely shocked at Bill Clinton's behavior and then oops, a mistress in Springfield. These guys make toe tapping in the public restroom look good.

Ahh musicmamma, I don't remember Newt being charged with perjury do you?

For THAT is what Clinton was impeached for. LYING UNDER OATH.

Liberals like to forget about that and state he was impeached for "having an affair".

Do a better job of understanding history.

Pete, be careful of throwing stones when your party lives in it's own glass house.

Does the Mayor of the biggest city in the state ring any bells?
