They know the consequences of un-zipping the zipper. Maybe it was a planned ice cream social.

As I said earlier, Democrats have affairs too. However, they are not the ones preaching blah blah blah, no gay marriage, family values, bring back prayer in school, bible instead of science. It stands to reason that when you belong to the party that tries to legislate morality, you will be dealt with more harshly when you get caught, literally, with your pants down.

It is a shame that every republican is now given a litmus test by their own peers and their own single-issue constituants. What ever happened to the classical definition of conservative, which is fiscal responsibility, small government, great emphasis on personal liberties, and making sure that Government doesn't over-reach into people's personal lives and choices? They have let the Religious Right, who do not represent the majority of the good Christians I know, take over their party. Unfortunate.

So much for family values. Hypocritical, God loving, fear preaching, republicans. You have to love them.
Here we go again. The democrats are without sin.
The difference is that this Republican admitted it and withdrew. You had your president keep denying anything when he was guilty.
It must be something to be perfect.

Sounds like democrats really don't care about morals. Just want to have a good time and whatever they do is ok.
That's why this country is going so far down hill.

Why would you be so arogant as to think you could run for a public office with THAT lurking in the proverbial closet. What arogance.

So being separated means being celibate? Even though he and has wife had agreed to not live together, his relationship with another woman is still considered an affair? Granted, it was probably going on before, and most likely led to, the separation, but after they've agreed to seperate how can anyone with even the slightest bit of common sense call it an affair at that point?

If he would have "withdrew" before "confirming" the affair (tongue in cheek) he probably wouldn't be in this boat.

Don't hassle me...You all know you were thinking it!!!!

I think he should have stayed in the running. This man's personal life has nothing to do with his capability to practice politics. Many people in higher places have done worse and been forgiven by the public. I hope that we see him running for office in the future.

its no ones buisness what he does in his personal life and as far as the daily news goes i am very appauled at the way they took your heart felt story and ran with it. I am proud of you for standing up for your self and your family and for our county. Even though the daily news has the right to freedom of speech that man has no morales or a heart as far as im concerned.what a selfish thing to do. we love and support you ryan and good luck with your family and your future

What is wrong with you people...of course what a public official does in his or her personal life matters. It points to MORAL compass and character. In your arguement, if he liked to wear women's clothes and dance a jig "in his personal life" it shouldn't matter. You are obviously too personally involved to be objective. Find another candidate to support and let this one be.

I know it. He is human just like anyone else. What he does behind closed doors is his buisness. Just because he is in politics doesn't mean he cant have freedom like everyone else does.
