In the days following this, I am struggling so hard. I pray and cry for this family daily. I hope with all my heart this child survives and his brother finds a way to forgive himself. A tragic accident? Oh yes! In my soul, I hope no more tragedies on this family!

Well that is a different story I thought the gun fell over and went off? To the family I hope everything turns out ok and your little boy will be home soon.

What a crying shame!!!!! Clearly this kids said the gun fell in order to cover his azz. This is exactly what I said I hoped had not happened, did. At 15 this kid should have known NOT to EVER point a weapon an ANYONE, EVER! Even if you think it is empty.
Shame on the parent(s) for not locking either the gun or ammo in a safe place.
I hope the victim pulls through. Say what you will, someone needs to be held accountable for this.

As many as these so called ACCIDENT'S that have happened lately with gun's you would think people would wise up and get the locks, it is sad to think people have forgotten what gun safety classes were for.

My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family, during this awful situation. I think everyone that is blaming and saying things about the accidental outcome should mind their own business. This family has been through enough and don't need to be talked about amongst others. Please just keep the family and the little boy in your thoughts and prayers. As for the person that said the 15 year old boy said stuff to save his butt, You should not judge... lets leave that to our creator and just keep praying for the family.

I stand by my first post.(#4) No judgement needed. The fact is, first he said the gun fell. No there is aonther story. No need to tell two stories unless you are trying to CYA.

Guns going off when dropped only happens in the movies. Guns are made to not accidentally go off.

Someone needs to be held accountable for this. It costs nothing to teach the kids,$10 for a trigger lock,$100 for a cheap gun locker, but what is the cost of a life?

Yes the family is hurting. So let them hurt it is life. But what about the other kids that need to be protected from irresponsible parents?

Pretty crazy! This actually happened on the same block i live on.
My thinking on this whole situation is how were these guns & ammunition accessible to three minors. Regardless of whether or not the gun was loaded.
Sad, sad story all the way around. Best wishes to all involved and hopefully the the boy makes it through this.

Have to agree about the thoughts and prayers but the mind your own business part that is what this is for a place to share thoughts and feelings.

Guns dont go off when they fall yeah ok thats why guys hunting trip and fall or drop the gun and shoot them selves right? I have an uncle who shot himself in the foot by a gun going off. Or are you trying to tell me he just decided to shoot himself? As for let the family hurt are you serious? No heart or what a child was shot and in the hospital whatever the situation it is a horriable accident that how could you say let them hurt? Your sick

myDhad guns in our house. We would have never thought to pick any of them up. We knew they were off limits and we had respect for the house rules, as well as the law.

why doesn,t everyone just take the time to pray for the family and stop hurting them more by your stupid comments. You never know you and your family may have it happen to you, then how would you feel?

My son just received a call from a family friend stating that the little boy just died. I was wondering if any one else had heard this or not - I did not speak to the friend who called.

Why doesn't everyone take a few minutes to pray for the family instead of leaving stupid comments. You have no idea what they are going through at this time. You never know this could happen to you or your family at anytime and how would you feel if people were talking trash

I have prayed for the family. My kids go to school with them. I do feel for what the family is going through at this time. We will help support them and be there for them. Now id the time for family and friends to rally around and be there for them to lean on. That is what we intend to do

That wouldn't happen here, because my weapons are locked in a gun safe. Any parent who would allow access to any type of weapon to their minor children needs some help.
