Candidate withdraws after confirming affair
#1 Aug 6, 2008
It is not the affair that I take so much of an issue with as it is the shear arogance of Ryan Villets comments in the Greenville Daily News. He felt that this would "fly under the radar"? He stated that he felt this would in no way affect how people viewed him. If so, why didn't he come out with this information right out of the gate. He was hiding it! Instead of coming off truly sorrowful for his actions, he came off sounding like an arrogant attorney that he is. If you are going to run for a public office you need to have your dirty laundry hung out for everyone to know. That is politics, you open your life up to scrutiny. If the man would have at least sounded truly sorry for his actions he probably would have gotten more simpathy votes, his statements obviously showed his true colors. It isn't true that the affair ended prior to the election, the affair continued into the election. He needs to remember that people know who he is and if he is going to sit in a bar and kiss this other woman in front of people while running for office, people will find no simpathy for him when he is caught. Thank God, his actions were exposed and that with his own words he proved to everyone what kind of person he really is. My suggestion, find humility and forgivness will find you.
