I disagree with you Mi hunter. ionia boy is concerned apparently because he is from there, hence the name ionia boy. i dont think that WOOD TV should put news like this on the website just to say "you heard it here first". A person died. They deserve more respect than to be a blip on a website.

This is not being nosy. Alot of people work in the county and commute. It could be someone he works.

At that time of the morning it could have been an adult going to/from work. A student going to school. Us Ionians care about each other. I understand that some of you don;t understand how a small area like us works but if you had a life maybe you would.
Mr. MI hunter you are a mean person. You are from a smaller area and if it was up there you would be wondering if it was your neighbor/friend.
Man I don't like to get on here and get nasty and I apologize if I offend anyone but whom I intend to, but why do some people have to be so daened cold hearted?
God Bless to all involved in the accident, etc.

You are absolutely right to tell MI Hunter how it is. I live in Ionia and had quite a few calls when I got to work from people making sure I was ok. I work in GR. When you live in a small town you think about your neighbors. It seems MI hunter woudl know that. LOSER anyhow

If you know someone who drives a car of that description, call their family. If you don't, chances are, you are not close to that person.

I live behind Bertha Brock Park and my son leaves for school a little after 7 am. He would not travel on M-21 thought. The shift change at the prison is 6am but workers report ever 1/2 in the morning.

M-21 is road that is almost inpassible on good days...but if it happened by Bertha Brock then road is not that bad...

Authorities do not release names until immediate family members have been notified. That may explain why the article did not include names.

Many thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of all involved. The roads were awful this morning and from what I understand from the people who drove from M21, it was very icy & slippery. Many stated they were barely moving and you would still slip and slide even when you were being very careful. To say that if people would just "slow down" in inclement weather is pointless. Sometimes, even when you're as careful as you possibly can be, accidents still happen. That is why they are called "accidents". There is no need to make rude comments when someone has lost their life. I hope those who are making these awful comments never have to experience the loss of a loved one due to a tragic accident. Take some time and visit the "Grieving Parents Forum" and you'll see how those who have suffer every day dealing with their loss.

They're not going to release the names of those involved until the police notifies the families.

It also could have been caused by one of the million potholes in the road. M21 between Ionia and Saranac is bad. You don't want to drive that with a full blatter, the rough and shaky ride might make you pee your pants. Its horrible.

I feel sorry for the people involved in this accident. My prayers are with them.:-)

I live on Bellamy road right by M-21 and I can tell you that the stretch of M-21 from Bellamy past the park can be very treacherous. There are several curves and hills and I have witnessed many accidents and slide-offs in that area. Until we have more funding to take care of roads, I'm afraid more tragedies like this will happen. When I left my house at 9:15 this morning, M-21 was still snow covered and slippery.
