Sounds pretty stupid to me. Dr. Kelly may have been against the death penalty at one time. Yet, I'm sure she would have reconsidered had she anticipated the death of her husband, daughter and daughter's friend. I hope the guy fries soon - sorry there's no way to make it painful - very painful.

i think no one should be asking to take noone life no mater what he did.because that means that person is forcing a crime against someone. No one knows the mental problem this person has to go over and kill. His state of mind was posible lost.Only God can take someones life. thank's

Good grief Vera. Really? I'm sorry but you're fighting for his life when he took four? This guy is sick and won't ever get better. I don't want to pay for him to live the rest of his life in jail on my dime or yours. Geez, I want a swift trial and I don't want him sitting in jail for 10 to 20 before we get rid of him. If anyone did that to my kid and I lived through it--well, you would be paying to keep my butt in jail for murder. So "God" is the only one who can take someones life? "God" ordered the murder of these people? "God" ordered Morgan Harrington and Yeardley Love and all the others to death? Really? That's messed up thinking in my opinion. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time? Have you looked at the evidence? They guy smelled like "death". Get a grip.

Vera you make no sense at all. Of course he committed the crime - four gruesome murders. You are really out there. Perhaps you should try a GED for starters.

Thanks for summing up what I was probably going to say in a longer and harsher manner. Fact is, I am tired of paying for people to await trial, await lethal injection and/or spend the rest of their life in prison on the taxpayer's dime. Why hasn't this guy been put to death yet? Have we Americans/Virginians become pathetic over time. What is taking so long? We as Virginian's should demand this trial and execution and demand it now. The longer this takes the more we pay.

To Vera, here in Va we have the death penalty. In Mayheeko maybe they do not. The majority of Virginians believe in capital punishment and that is why it is "acceptatable". So I hope the guy fries for what he did. I can't believe anyone would support not killing a ruthless premeditated murderer.

My brothers and sisters:

As a proud supporter of Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty I must voice my support for a sentence appropriate for the crime. This defendant should be given at most 30 years and have the opportunity to reform his ways while incarcerated. If he does so and promises to follow the laws and respect other people, I would have no problem with his being released at that time.

Larry...
if it was your family or your friends who were taken in such a horrible way then maybe you would think differently. Emma was a month shy of being 17 years old where is her chance to live free in 30 years? Think really long and really hard before you make such a stupid comment!

"A sentence appropriate for the crime".30 years at most.Really Larry?You're kidding,right?
Do you ever think about what the victims had to have gone through? He couldn't have killed them all at one time. Can you imagine the horror in that house?Did the others had to listen as he killed the first, then the second, knowing they were next?Did the Mom beg for the life of her daughter?Did this guy smile as he bashed their heads in,one by one by one?Did he laugh as they begged for their lives?

"30 years,at most"....sorry Larry, but we still reserve the ultimate punishment, the ultimate sacrifice, for the ultimate crime of murder. These people comited no crime other than befriending the wrong person and were slaughtered in a more horrible way than we would ever consider slaughtering an animal. To us he's worse than an animal and doesn't deserve the consideration that you're suggesting.
Go join Californians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty. You might be welcomed there.

Have you absolutely lost your f---in mind, Larry? He gave up his life or chances to reform his ways when he killed another human being. In this state, we have the death penalty and I appluad Virginia for that.

30 years? he killed 4 people, that averages out to 7 1/2 years per murder. if you brutally kill someone like he did and only get locked up for 7 1/2 years thats a travesty of justice in my opinion.

and i can't believe this sentence from larry...."If he does so and promises to follow the laws and respect other people, I would have no problem with his being released at that time." I'm sure his promise to follow the laws would be totally sincere (rolls eyes)

Yeah larry, after they release him you can become his mentor and house mate. What say you?
