If people want hot weather so much then why is there so much air conditioning used?

I think summer days in the seventies is perfect.

1992 shouldn't count as that was the year Mt. Pinatubo erupted and spewed enough dust into the upper atmosphere to cool the entire planet for two years. On the one hand I have enjoyed the cool, dry weather and the low NSP bills. On the other hand my tomatoes refuse to ripen.
