Mother of woman fatally shot in Mankato park seeks grandchildren

A grandmother whose daughter was shot to death in a Mankato park took her first step Monday toward getting custody of her grandchildren.

I hope the father has his parental rigths terminated. What a horrible person to put his kids through that ordeal. Let him rot in jail until he dies.

I have mixed feelings about his parents rights. They should not miss out on the grandkids life, but there should be a stipulation that their son should not have any contact with the children and if they violate that request, they should have not contact with the grandkids either but give them a chance.

What an awful situation.
First these poor kids watch their father murder their mother, then they are stuck in foster care, and now maybe they will go live with grandparents who don't even speak the same language. I can't imagine having to cope with all of that.
