I contacted the BBB,attorney general, & a branch of the AG office. They all agreed, Williams has a very bad rep. I advise EVERYONE to file a report with them. Maybe then something can get done

Anytime someone makes broad allegation comments such as these must have had a diffult life where now they blame everyone but themselves for their predicament.

It's pretty easy to get market pricing on the new or used car you are looking for so you know you are getting a good deal. A benefit for buying a used car from a reputable local dealer is that if there is a problem with the car, you have somewhere to go, close, for help and advice. Contrary to these comments, most dealers in Traverse City are like this and will even take the car back if you are not completely satisfied.

Tim, Maybe you are correct that "most" of them are reputable local dealers. I can assure you that Williams is not one that should be included on that list. They are unethical in their sales practices and I love the adds where they actually have to say "no lies" because their adds are flat out fradulent. That is one company that if gulible people ever quit being born, will go out of business.

They sell used vehicals with shady history and if a vehical is purchased from there, you'll may have low weekly payments but the intrest rate is threw the roof.
The sales men in there are creepy vultures and the best thing I can say about them is the hellium ballons attatched to the vehicals are the
best thing about the vehical itself.
Hi Jeep Girl,
Yes I agree totally with ya on Northpoint, THEY SUCK, I have one of there cars now,a 99 Buick Century, It seems the cars never last the duration of the loan, well no more for me, I filed bankruptcy and they are begging me to reaffirm, well I haven't made a payment in three months, they haven't come out to get it because they know that at auction they won't get diddly "BIG LMFAO" I got them by the you know whats, SO PLEASE NOBODY GET A CAR FROM HERE, they are arrogant A-Holes and deserve to go down and out of business....PERIOD.

I filed bankruptcy 2 years ago, I went to Cherry Capitol to see if I could even get credit. I can, but the interest rate is 18%...is this crazy?? Has anyone experienced this??

Yeah I went through the same situation and my interest was alittle higher than I expected. Now that I have made payments on my car for 24 months, my credit union refinanced it for just under 10%. I ended up with a good credit score again and a low payment, it just took a little bit.

Williams is the worst place in my opinion and have been for quite some time. About 10 years ago, I came up from CMU to visit my family on a break and my car broke down. I didn't know any of the repair places in TC so I had it towed to the nearest repair center, which was Williams. They decided to "fix" my car with all kinds of unnecessary repairs without obtaining my authorization. I called a half dozen times trying to get ahold of "the person I needed to deal with" and got the runaround. So then I went there in person and let them know I wasn't leaving until I spoke with a manager. I basically told him they weren't going to play the take advantage of the dumb girl kind of game and that I wanted to see where it was documented that I authorized the repairs. When they couldn't provide it, I let them know my knowledge of the law and the various phone calls I would be making. I ended up driving my car off the lot with new parts that I didn't pay for because they knew I had them. Needless to say, I have never gone back and have heard a multitude of horror stories from other people since then.

I am on my third Saturn from Bill Marsh Saturn in TC now. I get excellent customer service, they don't try to jerk me around and every Saturn I have owned has been great!

Problem is..you dont know how to buy a car. Your in charge..not them.
1) Always see the dealers invoice..they will show it to you. Add 300 dollars for dealer profit. If there are incentives..factor that in.
ex:$12.000 list price minus $2000 incentive =$10,000 plus 300 profit. Your price $10,300
Pretty simple. It takes me 10 minutes to buy a car because i am in charge..they are just the paper shovers.
$300 is fair profit..i've done as good as $150. Yup, I help people buy cars so they DONT get ripped off. Bottom line..you can do it too.
I will add a bitch tot his topic..went to the Traverse Subaru to buy a used one..asked him if they were ever in an accident...he said no. told me he would run 'carfax'..i laughed...if the dealership fixes their won cars they dont have to enter it into 'carfax'. Then i proceeded to show him paint overspray on over 17 cars in his lot. Needless to say...he had nothing to say when i called him a ...liar.
Need help with your next purchase?
I will monitor this thread for a while.
No sense in getting ripped off and honestly ..you dont need to go to 4 dealerships for the best deal...they all pay the same...i just taught you how to it. Yes..its really that simple!

I'v spent 13 years in dealer world in the metro Detroit area. Some of you folks don't shop much. Cars in the Detroit area are 15% more or higher. Just do your homework. Don't shoot a salesman for selling. If someone does something dishonest, prosecute.

Williams has been horrible for years - I cant believe you just figured that out.

I bought three trucks from Bill Marsh Auto and did just fine, maybe because I got to know the people before I bought. I built a relationship first and it helps if you know there game.

Although, they have tried to snow me before I refused to let it happen.

My advise- go somewhere you feel comfortable doing business, work one against the other and get the best deal.

Williams dealership always felt weird when I went there. I never bought. I know others who did and complained specifically about there service. This was 5 years ago and better. Seems Williams dealership hasn't changed. Probably never will until you stop buying from them.

Williams is one of the worst car dealers in the midwest and THEE worst in Tc area .

Most of their used cars are broken.
The salemen are smoking like a chimney-sleezeballs that try to get you into a car by turning you over to their Finance guy simce they are to stupid to work the deal themselves. Even though its typical proceedure to try and bump your customer by sending them to the next guy up the sleeze chain. then try and stick you with 23% financinf for 5 years and they pocket 8% of that on the back end; on top of the profit on your deal. Scum bags.

At the same level is Northpoint... they are just slimy wreck pushers with inflated interest rates. And they may be selling you a repo car that someone actually still owns!

Traverse Motors is Next.. they leap out that door in all kinds of weather to try and sell you wrecks or cars the salesmen have no clue about. Very overpriced, They never seem to sell much. Same cars on lot month after month. Their bank must really love them! Not!
How pathetic is it to drive in during a raging snowstorm and this salesmen comes out and wants to know if there is any vehicle you might be interested in. The poor sap doesn;t even know when it's time get in out the rain (snow) and start looking for another job. Most of these guys would kick their mother to sell a car, just one!

Next up is PricePoint. Over priced, take it or leave it, then when you take it and think you got a deal, they forget you real fast when you come back with a service issue the next day. They too don't sell many cars and then shuffle them over to Bill Marsh lot on Garfield to make it look like they sold some.

Fox-Grand Traverse Auto.. does anybody work there?
Will any salesman come out on the lot and greet anyone and try to make a sale?

Williams...just needed to say again how sleezball they are, junk peddlers of junk and unscrupulous of the this whole unscupulous bunch...

Bill Marsh... way over priced! Hey gang its Price Point all over again. Now, they try to sell you even worse back-lot junk at JD Byrider.. lol they are really desparate to sell something!

Hey here's a clue.. just finance good folks (bruised credit or not) and get them going and sell some cars! Not the .."we have some special cars for special poeple...." what crap.. you condesending feckless merchants of one price for all.. BS..

Cherry Captial, just an upscale version of slackers at Traverse Motors,, Same owner, same attitude.. Hey nit wits..here's an idea: sell cars for 250.00 dollars over invoice and you will be rolling in money and customers!

Wares Auto: do they really sell any cars? Ever notice how they forget you as you leave the lot, then return to look for another car and get treated like they never knew you... or how OVERPRICED they are and all they do is sell (try to) used cars?! sheesh!..
They have no financing beside sending you to their favorite credit union that doesn't finance anyone! Hey Wares....do you sell any cars?

No wonder we shop downstate, save 3,000-5,000 on most any vehicle and get great service and get this... a phone call now and then from 250 miles away just to say hi!

I have been happy in the past with Bill Marsh. For me to ever go back to Williams would be a very long shot.
