Wonder is that true?? possible??

Would it attack the cat first and paralyze it, like some animals do..
or would the snake eat it whole!!
In any case .. what a dreadful thought..

This is one for OPIS.

Yes, the snake, if hungry, would grab the cat and coil its self around it. As the cat exhaled the snake would tighten it's coils until the cat could no longer breathe. After the cat was dead the snake would release it and eat it whole head first. I kinda doubt the part of the story of the snake eating it backwards because snakes eat prey head first. That way the legs of the prey would fold underneath its self for easier swallowing.

First- the penalty for an escaped reptile, which is a fed thing, Dept Agriculture, is $1000 fine, up to a year in jail. Snake had been loose before, obviously owner is irresponsible, repeat offenders are frowned upon and punished accordingly. Florida has no sense of humor with this stuff either. You would have to sink the wire 30" underground at least to prevent rabbits burrowing out, and no one who knows snakes would leave a rabbit in the cage unattended- snakes get killed by their own food all the time.Second, all the idiots with the albinos don't realize that they have no resistance to uv rays, wind up with eye, brain, and skin cancer, blindness and shouldn't cage them outdoors anyway. Third, being unafraid of humans it certainly would be a threat to small children, adults who didn't know how to deal with them and obviously the bottom feeding moron who owns it would be of no use in such an event. Fourth, there is no reason the snake couldn't be killed, and non native wildlife running around loose SHOULD be killed. It is exactly because of morons like this that this kind of crap goes on all over Florida. You have a right to defend your home, your pets from dangerous predators. Kill the mf. And I LOVE snakes. Yes, a 13' burmese could eat a housecat, wouldn't be having a good time of it tail first, headfirst would be no problem. What the situation was here I don't know, but again, an albino is a mutation. With the dubiously pretty color, there are other mutations under the skin such as reduced intelligence among other things that may have been a factor. So much is wrong with this whole story. But it's things like this that have my business sewn up with eight government agencies all hiring on to be my personal proctologist with sandpaper gloves, while I act responsibly, but guys like this can keep dangerous predators outdoors in inadequate cages. If the cage was adequate, the snake couldn't have escaped.Period. So obviously the inspector went to the same school as the idiot owner. You can never go oops with dangerous animals. It hurts you, fine. It's running around the neighborhood, time to admit you're incompetent and get rid of it.Guys with little winkies need big snakes to make themselves feel good.

Oh, cat probably died in under a minute, constrictors are efficient. The snake was much kinder to the cat than the cat had ever been to any small animal. AND ate it. My cat liked to kill stuff, bring it home and leave it on the doormat for me to step on barefoot in the morning when I went to get the papr. Complete waste.

These snakes are a huge problem here in Florida Everglades. These Burmese Pythons, have no natural enemies.Even the native gators have problems with them. But small animals, native birds, deer, and all living things are prey for these unwanted aliens.

So far ,I have not heard of any human attacked. But a young child could be taken with ease by these huge snakes.

Those who engage in the business of exotic pets need more state control.

There is really is not much left of the primeval Florida. The introduction of plants, animals and yes people, has changed Florida for ever. This in a relative short time.
Thanx

This is a very sad story but I feel there should be a better investigation. I don't like snakes in the first place but this one is a killer but needs to be placed where it will receive the proper care..wouldn't one rabbit fill it up? Why 2?

It is a large snake it would take an abnormally large rabbit to fill it up.
