When Are people Going to learn that Coal is here forever. And You people Need to get over it. If Their was no coal you would have no paved roads No heat No electric No cars No big steel busniess's in new york no pop machince's you think your car and trucks are made out of sand think again it's all made from coal. Do some research before you go talking about wanting to get rid of coal. Hell even wind mill's are even made out of coal becasue they are also metal. And you people think you have all the damn answer's don't ya. well keep trying it's not going to do you any good becasue we need these thing's in life unless you have a better way of making metal.

Seems like everyone thats get on the tree huggers band wagond is just wanting to see theyre name in the paper or themselfs on tv. How can somebody from rock, be a expert in the effects of blasting? with out any training on the subject matter. Seems like there's a lot of experts in the Rock Creek area that has turned into experts over night on several subjects about the surface mining. A few of the one's bitchen about coal was raised up and tgheyre husbands was into coal mining. and a few more that bitches was dope heads. must be something in the water up rock creek way that makes everyone a expert in the effects of surface mining.

You don't have to be an expert in coal at all if you live very close to these mountain top removal sites. Especially if an occasional rock lands in your yard or on your house, Or if when you walk outside and see that the foundation of your house has new cracks all over it after being there for 40 years without any problems, or the well where you get your drinking water from and always have is now red, smells like rotten eggs. Thats the side of things that you yourself just don't understand.

If you dont like the mining industry then just leave West Virginia. The coal mines supports alot of families here, if you are against it then just turn off your power and get out!

Nobody said anything about coal mining in general.Mining is just fine as long as your not blowing up mountains and destroying the homes of people who have to live with it. Don't think you took the time to read the article, just looking to bash someone maybe?

There is no one in Southern WV that has a job that has nothing to do with coal unless you income and business are outside of Southern WV.
Coal is the base for the economy.
Even if you work for the gov. the tax base come from coal.
Pull coal out and see how many businesses are left.

where does the money come from to pay for your product? My point was that coal is the base for our economy. Obviously many people have jobs not related to the coal industry. Myself included.
