The high unemployment among Long Beach youths is directly due to Mayor Foster's declaring Long Beach a sanctuary city.
This allows businesses to hire older people at cheaper wages. The "intern" scam is just that: a scam, for struggling businesses with bad business models to exploit teens for little or no pay.

Since when do teens need to intern to learn how to scrub a restaurant floor?

It's quickly turning into a situation where we have legal citizens interning for "the jobs illegals just won't do."

Mayor Foster is a horrible, horrible person.

Jerry Brown and the State Assembly in Sacramento are even worse. But, no one is as stupid as those who voted them into office in the first place.

They probably don't, since even that job will be taken over by some kind of automated floor cleaning robot at some point in the not so distant future.

NoName.

Possibly. But in the interim, it's likely the revolutionary tyrants (now in power) will argue their failed economic programs demonstrate the "need" to funnel even more laundered hard earned taxpayer money to their high paid ideological bedfellows who occupy the failed Government "education" industry.
