I was wondering if anyone knows a place in Martin County that is hiring full time. I graduated college and have a part-time job but I need something full time or even part time that pays more than $7.25 so I can make my student loan payments.

Idk about Inez but the McDonald's in Louisa is hiring and they start you out at 7.50 or 7.75 if you open or close. I don't know if this is the type of work ur looking for but just some info for ya.

I use to work at McDonald's, its not a bad job. But you need to get off drugs before you start, because they may drug test you.

The Inez McDonalds is part-time, I know a few people who work there and sometimes they get a full 8 hours in and sometimes they get sent home after 2 hours. I'm already working part-time min wage and don't want to drive out of county for a full time min wage job, with the gas difference it's not really worth it.

I've been looking for a better paying job in county for a long time with no luck. Would love to be making about 12 or 20 an hour but the only jobs like that are coal mining jobs and I cant do that.

Yea, same here. I've been looking 3 years with no luck. Unless your a coal miner or related to someone high up, chances of a good job are slim.

So if you just finished college...then what was it you went to college for? Surely it wasn't to work part time in Martin County...you could have just stayed here and done that.

What is it that you want to do? What are you really good at?
Really...what kind of job would you like that you would like so much that it wouldn't even feel like you have went to work?

No I didn't go to college for min wage, I'm just working it until I can get a job with the prison or the jail. I majored in Criminology.

I hear ya all, I work for Klines dairy bar, I make 8 dollars an hour. I have been here over 3 yrs, and its crazy at how much we bring in on a daily basis. You know 8 dollars an hour isn't a lot these days, but I'm thankful I have something. I am looking for something part time in the evenings for a few hours, every little bit helps ya know. It seems like every thing is getting higher, except the wages. lol..but we will survive.

You been working there 3 years ? Is that your started rate...the 8.00 ? I think that if a person is working out and doing their job and it's someone you want to keep around a dollar raise wouldnt be to much to ask for.
Does the business drop off a lot during the changes of the seasons or does it just move in another direction other than icecream?

My starting pay was minimum wage, yes, we get slow during the winter months. But jobs are so hard to find and I have to work. So I'm not going to complain, because there is so many blessed ppl that are out of work. Who am I to complain.

So you really haven't go that much in a pay raise in 3 years...I think that is alwful knowing that the place takes in money based on your work and the way you do things but theres no reward for you other than you keeping a job.
It seems like they would know that good clean level headed people are harder to find than that job you're looking for.

The college degree that you majored in, was it for the purpose of working at the prison or jail? Or was it the education in it that interested you and that is the only place you feel it can be useful locally? And if you were to get that job there tomorrow what would it pay?
Im just really curious , I hope you don't mind the questions.
