If anyone knows where I can get help with buying work and school clothes, please let me know. I'm trying to better myself but it's hard when I have no money. All I really have to wear for a job interview (that I'll have next week) are old t-shirts and jeans (most of which have holes in them), and I want to look more presentable. Please help me. When I say I have no money, I really mean I have NO MONEY at all.

Paintsville Good Will over by Lowes can fix you up, I go there every chance I get and always find very nice clothes cheap.

I have a job but I still save money where I can and that is a reg. stop.

Do you live in the Inez area?

Christian Help in Kermit gives clothes away. I don't go in there except to drop off donated items but I'm sure they could help you out.

Try Christian Help, they give clothes away for free. Also if you don't get the job that are interviewing for McDonalds and Taco Bell in Inez usually hire all the time and Warfield Shoprite is another place that hires regularly. Also if you want to try to go to college since you have no money fill out a FAFSA if you haven't done that and it will allow you to receive grant/pell money and you'll be eligible for Federal Student Loans. The website is http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and you have to apply by September 21 or you'll have to wait until next year to apply.

I do think it is cool that you want to better yourself too, that's a good frame of mind to be into.
When you do get this thing ( your new life ) started, do you plan on a community college then something afterwards?
Just curious...and I know that isn't any of my business just that I've been right where you are and I know that it a great turning point.
I love where my life has taken me through the years and it all started when I desided I wanted to make a difference in me.
Good girl.

Did you get the job? Or have you had the interview yet? Be sure to let us know. You don't have to let us know where it is, just keep us updated on whether or not you got it.

Yeah, I plan on going to BSCTC. I've already been accepted and hopefully I'll start in the spring. I'm pretty much guaranteed the job I'm getting, I just have to go to training for a couple of days. & Thank you. Hopefully, it'll all work out..

I won't know for SURE until after my training, but it's pretty much guaranteed. It's a work program thing for people 21 and under. I'll let you guys know when I get it though..

Yeah, I've already been there and gotten a couple of things. There's just not much in the way of presentable work clothes. Hopefully, I'll be getting some clothes from Goodwill soon.

I think it is great that you are getting things together and it sounds like you are really know what needs to be done.

The Paintsville goodwill is probably the best bet when it comes to a more professional line of clothes.

Are you planning on working till spring or do you have to wait for whatever training to pass before applying for the job you said you had promised?

And what is it that you're interested in?
Both before and after college?

Thank you and I'll probably either go to Paintsville Goodwill or the one in South Williamson.

Well, the job I'm getting is only guaranteed for 6 weeks but I'll be getting paid 9 dollars an hour and honestly, it'll help me and my fiance' a lot with our bills. I'm in training now and will probably start within the next two weeks.

My fiance' and I both are going into Business. Probably get an Associates Degree in Business Administration. We want to do Entrepreneurial studies, but they don't offer that at BSCTC. We're (hopefully) going to open our own business after getting our degrees. It's something both of us have been interested in for some time now and hopefully it'll be something we can do together and be successful in.
