DB Cooper wrote: It would seem that to run for Council in Walnut or Diamond Bar, one would have to raise upwards of a hundred thousand to compete with Lim and his likes. So it is OK for him to raise MORE money from his off shore investors than for locals to raise money from local businesses? What should a local candidate do? Just let the off shore takeover continue? The election forms for Lim are available going back years on www.ci.walnut.ca.us . They are very telling. Victor Valle's book talks about the 1970's and 1980's. It has nothing to do with today. Valle's book shows you the roots of the injustices that are taking place right now. To say it is only about the 70's and 80's is a gross misunderstanding of why we look at the past. The shady dealings of Roski and Perez are in the book, and these are the so-called "professionals" whose money is shaping our city's politics and policies. Diamond Bar needs to become its own city instead of the shadow city of Industry. Elect new people who have not been on the take.

Lim was at the candidate forum in DB telegraphing signals to his female candidate, a Walnut transplant clone. He was with his friend Michael West, and sending in useless questions about the NFL stadium. Lim is convinced that the stadium is the issue to attack incumbents. He is hoping the low voter turnout will allow him to mobilize his anti NFL nitwits to overturn the Council.
He is wrong again.

They are "on the take" because they report legal campaign contributions from legally operating businesses. Is it "on the take" to take campaign contributions from people who are builders, but do not file articles of incorporation or LLC's to identify them as such? Is it "on the take" to move money from a company that is designed to train foreign government employees into your campaign account? Is it "on the take" to accept payment from your employer you are not entitled to, and then refuse to return it when a judge orders you to? Is it "on the take" to bag your grocieries and then walk out of a store without paying because "your pager went off?" Your sh-- is weak.

How many of your men have served this country in World War Two, Korea, Vietnam ,Iraq etc.? Where were you during the Great Depression? Get my point? When the San Gabriel Vallley began changing rapidly into an Asian Community; Valley Boulevard and Garvey Boulevard became Asian owned, I don't hear you complaining about dust, traffic or noise! I've have seen all three elements in Asia! Don't forget, they won't hire outside their RACE! and there is no way you could read the signs!

Dittos to DB Cooper's post. It appears that Andrew Wong was the top vote getter in the Pomona School Board race. I can assure crossroads 558 that voters were a melting pot of ethnicities that made that happen. The same applies to candidate Ling, Ling Chang who joins the Diamond Bar City Council as the youngest, homegrown member who attended DB shcools. Congratulations to both.

Veritas wrote: There is much absurdity to the Stadium being an issue. In mid 2008, Lim held meetings with various people in Walnut as to how to take over the City of Walnut. He was all alone in his voting block. He seized on the stadium issue. Various candidates were proposed. Ivy Nan, Lawrence Reinhold, and Shelly Rzonka. Even though Lim knew he could NOT STOP the stadium, he organized the Chinese Confucious School with Rex Yee, a County Democratic Committeeman. Despite the tax exempt status of the School, meetings were held and a protest was organized at Walnut City Hall. They parents were told that the City Council was on the take, and taking money from Majestic. This is common in Asian American politics. Tell a lie, no matter how outrageous and scare them. Lim picked Howard Wang and Brigid Bjerke for the next Walnut election. He picked a female for Diamond Bar. Lim has been relentless in trying to take over Walnut, and believes he has a chance in Diamond Bar with his association with An York Lee. They have been sharing resources and suppporters. Lim is also pushing Michael West as he gets his tentacles into the School Board. If West and Lee win, he will go all out in two years to get a third or fourth vote on the Board. It remains to be seen if people wake up to what is going on in Walnut and Diamond Bar. It appears that people have awoken to the truth. Lee played both sides, and West sold his soul to Lim, effectively tainting himself forever.

The voters spoke. We are basically happy to live in a city that is safe, offers good educational opportunities where many races and ethnicities live harmoniously. While we have a large contingent of ESL citizens- they have chosen to have English signage because their is a desire to assimilate. The two incumbents won re-election. The vacant seat was won by Ling Chang. In my view because her roots to the community go wide and deep. She was the one candidate who could quote the water usage of the proposed stadium vs the entitlements. With her background in non-profits- she understands what it is to have goals- but have to wait for the money to fund efforts.
I wish these people and the contenders well. May all their talents be offered in the future.

Walnut and Diamond Bar would look a lot better if Lim would get his lap child Michael West to pick up his campaign signs. The election was two weeks ago and the signs are all over public property in Diamond Bar, Industry and Walnut

The spearmint rhino signs along the 60 or the West signs all over DB and Walnut?

What a shock it was to find out that someone who once appeared "reasonable" with some rather interesting ideas for improving the school district that serves Walnut and the city as well, when actually running for office started digging a rabbit hole for himself. It appears he's still burrowing instead of removing his signs in both Diamond Bar and Walnut, Industry as well. Hmmmmmm....time to be a big boy and be responsible for picking up your signs.

The Dear Leader Lim has not given him permission to pick up the signs as of yet.

Leaving crappy DB
Diamond Bar, CA

I'm tired of fighting against the stadium, i'm tired of trying to help save my home town that I grew up in, I starting to feel bad when I call Diamond bar my hometown after the city has betrayed us so much... The city is hard to live in because of all the a-hole commuters getting off the freeway and taking OUR surface streets, and all the crappy drivers in DB. The sheriff's helicopter flying over my house every single night ONLY between 12 and 3 AM EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! Its just a horrible place to live nowadays. I am leaving this horrible area and going to clean, beautiful, Western Montana!
