All he needs is a team? In the words of Cuba Gooding Jr. "Show me the money."

The pasture peddler still has a pasture, no stadium in sight. There is no blimp contract, no one has bought a ticket, a luxury box, or a team jersey.

This is the most pathetic football operation I have ever seen.

No Team
No Stadium
No Blimp
No Dice!

My wish may come to be. Hope Roski spent all his available cash buying our CA State Legislature in record time. With the poor economy, NFL's labor strife, the Leiweke & Wasserman announcement that they want to build a NFL stadium next to the Staples Center downtown along with no word from Roski that he has secured a team or part owner in a team plus we are well into April 2010 makes me think Roski should cash in his remaining chips and just hope his Silverton Casino in Las Vegas does not go bust next before his last days in COI.

I hope that either stadium gets built, I don't really care which one, downtown is more centerly located..just bring back the NFL...not the Chargers..we are not stealing our little brother city down souths team, they are apart of So Cal....Jacksonville.....they don't deserve a team....

You are supposedly a very wealthy media person. Why don't you get into the fray and show them how it is done?

the NFL doesn't care about LA. LA is a weird place when it comes to sports fans. Most are casual fans and that may not translate good enough for the NFL. Who knows.

I have actually moved my position away from sports entertainment in recent years because I was a little top heavy in that industry. I enjoy a better retun and sleep better being diversified.

No one ever said that this stadium thing is going away, it's not.
But with the announcement of a potential downtown LA stadium, I bet there will be more support and less opposing forces.
It's interesting reading the comments here on traditional newspaper media. People opposing the stadium in Industry don't want the traffic, noise or crime in their area.
But when you read comments on this matter on Sports based media, all the Los Angelenos refer to having the Industry stadium as located in the Boondocks, or complaining about driving to BFE for a game.

Roski's Industry Stadium is losing it's steam, really fast.

Now out comes his former biz partner, unbdoubtedly, not only his major roadblock, but also his competitor.

Industry will never ever happen. You know majestic Mike and his well wisher for this stadium are in for the long haul but fact of the matter is why do these roadblocks keep popping up in the newspaper about the deal delayed, difficult, directed to downtown now? Roski is all smoke and mirrors, there is no deal in place and he surely does not own a NFL team so where does this put everything with Roski and all the dumb a--es that follow this notion? They are all just banging their heads against a wall. When it is all said and done the only Team that is playing in industry is that team named The Cows,, as they graze off that land by the 57 / 60 fwy. The NFL is not ready for L.A. and L.A. is not ready for the NFL.

What steam? This plan was dead on arrival years ago. It never had a chance because no existing NFL owner was ever going to agree to sell Ed 40% of their team. The NFL is not a regional sport, so the LA market is not some untapped goldmine. No one is tripping over themselves to get to SoCal.

The fools who actually believed this plan could work and that LA was a hugely attractive market are losing steam though. We don't see many of the "an announcement will be coming soon!!!" or the "I cant wait for you to eat your words" posts now.

The only way the NFL comes back to L.A is when a owner says goodbye to the city he plays for now comes to L.A. and strikes a deal with the Coliseum and or the Rosebowl and starts a plan for a new NFL stadium himself. Roski is not the guy or is he a owner of a team so he is not going to get it done. It has been 15 years with the L.A. market open for a NFL transplant team and it has not happened so all these owners could not be wrong about football in L.A. being a bust and not a seller to the people of L.A. The people here may have adopted football again if a team came here immediatley after the Raiders and Rams left but given that 15 years have passed the L.A. people are used to not having football and could care less for it. The owners know this. It will not sell and the owner who comes here will be worse off from where he left. LA. IS NOT A NFL FOOTBALL TOWN

L.A. has it share of football fans and they have all adopted different teams they root for. Raiders fans, Cowboys Fans, Charger fans, Forty-Niners Fans to name a few. Even Pittsburgh Steeler fans. I do not think a team will sell here and get the city behind it as a fan base after 15 years passed and you expect fans that have been fans of another teams for 15 years to suddenly uproot and pull for the L.A. Team, this will not happen and that L.A. football team will be the Clippers of L.A. and the NFL.

I like not having a team in LA. It is always more enjoyable to watch the games on TV without blackouts, cost, etc. Go Minnesota Vikings! Stay in MN far from Walnut.

Have any of those no sayers driven down Grand Ave as of late? I say that because the trucks have been moving dirt around for the last few weeks. Go out and look when driving away from Walnut and you get to the middle (top) of Grand. Look over to your right and you will see the trucks. Roski will never give away his plan until the existing team is ready to pull out of its own city. As someone else that is smart mentioned a looming strike is pending something called the CBA is holding things up. Those that dont know it stands for the Collective Bargaining Agreement. When that gets settled look for MAJOR NEWS. Do you people really think Diam. Bar would have gotten over 20 million. Walnut, less for trying to stop it but did get about 7-10 million. The governor came to the site. The EIR is DONE. All the red tape has been complete. The NFL has approved it. It's a done deal and it will happen. Everyone just needs to relax. Rome was not built overnight. Smeckin said a team will be in LA for the 2011 season and it will. keep in mind this season will be the 2010 season. Once the team comes out they will play at the Rose Bowl for the 2011, and 2012 season. By the 2013 season the stadium should be ready to go.

Roski rolled the dice and is losing badly.

Advice: Roski take your marbles and go home! Leave the communities of Walnut, Diamond Bar and Beyond alone. You tried to buy off legislators through your $$ and influence, including the spouse of a sitting State Senator.

Go Away!

Santa Ana. HMMMMMMM lets see. OK, my thinking is over.... Diam. Bar is like Beverly Hills compared to Santa Ana. The people who run the city of DB are all prfesionials. Smeckin is good friends with the city and its council. No way in a zillion years does this even come close to what happened in Irwindale. I dont know why people continue to post negative about the stadium. It must be all are just jealous. Leave the gang infested Santa Ana and go out to the site. Take a peek at the big trucks moving things around. Or just call John Smeckin direct, he will speak to you or anyone about the stadium.
