Wow. These teen moms are rewarded for being irresponsible? That's just nuts.

Wow is right! Let's have a party and reward these girls for their initial poor behavior. I think a student in AP classes that graduates without child is a far better ideal to strive for. We are becoming so politically correct and sexually tolerant that as you walk the campus at any highschool you see multiple pregnant teens proudly parading around. In this day and age there is NO reason to "accidentally" get pregnant. If you can't (or wish not to) abstain, USE BIRTH CONTROL.

Most of these single moms end up being strippers.

I hope non of them are on Welfare. Their daddies need to get out the shotguns and start some weddings.

They should pass out condoms to these girls and all the other girls in high school. Its still not ok to get pregnant so early.

It must be nice to be perfect. My question is what would you have done if it was your daughter that got pregnant as a teen? Would you want her to walk around in shame for the rest of her life? Or would you look for programs that could help
Your daughter and their child. A program that gets them back into school and encourages them to make better decisions. I was 15 when I got pregnant and I am now 44. Fortunately, I had a loving and FORGIVING family that encouraged me to continue my education. I am now a mother of 4 and I am still married to my high school sweetheart. We purchased our first home when we were in our twenties and now four homes later we live on beautiful acre property and have our own business. I only mention that because you people act as though if you are a teen mom right away that means welfare, it certainly does not! I agree with one thing.....do not become a teenage mom...it's incredibly difficult. However, once a girl gets pregnant how dare you or anyone else make them feel like they should be ashamed. I lived with that shame for many many years. So Congrats to these teen mom who are trying to better themselves and are being recognized for it. Maybe you should buy a ticket to the luncheon and see what it's about before you open your mouths next time. Remember Knowledge is Power!
