Thanks to Sam Farr for this excellent step forward. The last 8 years showed that no federal lands are safe unless we put them under secure protection.

More pork courtesy of Democrat Farr. Yup, the rich folk living in their gated properties and the tourists that drive through need all that stimulus money! Right, more dollars down the proverbial toilet during an economic recession. Spend, spend, spend. How truly Democrat Party!

I dislike one specific part of this plan... it designates the Arroyo-Seco-Indians Road as a scenic trail, forever closing it to vehicle traffic.

This 'trail' is in fact a rather wide dirt road, or at least was in the recent past, although it has been closed for a number of years after a fire. This road should be restored and reopened at least seasonally.

Smaller is better. Separating Big Sur from the huge Lost Padres National Forest makes it more likely local input will make its way through the Forest Service bureaucracy. This isn't pork... it is a far sighted change that will be of value for generations to come.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Aquarius

Unfortunately it won't take much to get your wires crossed, especially if you're trying to keep track of your Christmas preparations. It's hard to work out what still needs to be done. A member of the family is away with the fairies or is being completely fanciful. It's a pest because that sort of behavior can make you feel anxious and harassed.
