"As you might expect, many of these 1 million Californians live in small, rural communities in the state’s agricultural heartlands of the San Joaquin, Salinas, Coachella and Imperial valleys. But in fact, there are over 300 unsafe drinking water systems across the state and virtually every county in California contains impacted communities and residents."
The Coachella Valley Water District has been managing the aquifer for 100 years now, the valley would enjoy a better water supply without all of the interlopers claiming 'rights' to the aquifer and pushing so called "clean water standards" through specious MCL levels of some chemicals in the water table. Little Science, BIG B.S..
"Likewise, social, economic and environmental justice organizations from around the state joined hands to support a new, incredibly modest safe drinking water fee that – for less than the price of one bottle of water per month per household — would ensure universal access to safe drinking water."
Until it is found what it really costs to remove things like arsenic and chromium six to the 'new' lower allowable limits in PPB. Then that 'modest' fee becomes a sliding fee and slides right up there with the 'other' taxes and fees charged for water infrastructure.
