"Meanwhile, a long-awaited report on these avian mortalities from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has been withheld from public release. It is likely to be edited, with some information blacked out, before it becomes available, and then only if a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request is submitted."

Yeah, that didn't happen when Citizens that use the Bump and Grind trail in Rancho Mirage asked for information gathered by the Fish and Wildlife Service as to where the Big Horn sheep lambing areas were around the trail and trail head. This is the reason given for the trail's closure during "lambing season". So a private citizen had to spend his own dime suing the damn taxpayer supported Fish and Wildlife service to get a court order to release the information. What a load of crap, the next sequester, you can shut down the Fish and Wildlife "service" for an extended period of time. No one will miss them, not the birds or the sheep.

As for the Ivanpah and Palen projects and even the proposed McCoy project. NONE of these projects use any kind of heat or chemical storage for the power produced. So, none of them can be used for base load or spinning generation sources to help steady the grid infrastructure. There are those who like to claim, the projects can supply energy for 100,000 homes, 140,000 homes, 200,000 homes. With no energy storage, you would be better off putting 3 to 4 KW peak Solar PV generation on 440,000 roofs where the power is used and generated.
