I can tell this: Travel packages use to be at 1000 listings in 2006 -2007 -2008 now it's down to 400

For travel hotels only that use ot be at 8000 average per day listings, it is down to 4000 per day.

So yes alot of sellers left. I no longer do so much on ebay and my business has grown without them. When I started out I needed them, no longer and we're at 1 million in sales this year. only a few from ebay.

SO those are facts for travel sellers and listngs. And it's true too much stupid regulation that I don't need

amazon dvd shipping is now a dollar more than ebay.

and ebay---not amazon---allows korean and hong kong dvd sellers, with some otherwise expensive dvds selling for under 8 dollars, shipping included.

amazon is getting worse.

Some 15,000 sellers were blocked from listing on ebay last week. Ebay Confirms Crackdown is the title of an Ina Steiner article on EcommerceBytes.com about this latest ebay "purge". Suzanne Wells broke the news on www.examiner.com

It is ILLEGAL for a corporation to allow a glitch or malfunction (the automatic five-star on shipping DSR for instance) that adversely impacts a user (many of those "purged" were only out of compliance by 1 star) to continue for an extended period of time without fixing it (ebay did and has admitted this, see Ebay Drags Heels In Fixing Automatic Five-Star DSRs article by Ina Steiner). This is a BREACH of the user agreement that ebay has with the users affected by this. PAYPAL HOLDS; many (if not most) states do not allow a hold on funds of more than 10 days. Ebay has often slapped 21-day holds on sellers' PayPal funds. A Florida man contacted the banking regulators in his state, they contacted Paypal and got his funds released. Although PayPal is not a bank, it is a money transfer entity and as such falls under the banking regulators of each state. UNLEVEL PLAYING FIELD: As has been pointed out by many people in many threads, DSRs disproportionately impact and are used against small sellers while big box retailers such as TRUS remain essentially untouched. That's also ILLEGAL. These three are right off the top of my head, thank you for asking, I am certain there's more but i will have to study the matter further. I have said many times that a good sharp legal mind needs to look at what's going on at ebay (including the user agreement). Attorney general's offices are very good at that sort of thing. I am not an attorney, but like many on ebay I am sharp enough to know when there are some things amiss.

As long as DSRs continued to be used against small sellers, as long as ebay places holds of any length of time on a seller's PayPal funds, as long as Guardrail or Quick decline exists, as long as Selling Limitations on the number of items a seller can list exist, as long as ebay admits to hiding listings so that there is no guarantee of site visibility for a seller's items... I will not trust ebay nor will i list anything there (keep in mind I was not one of those suspended from listing and selling here on ebay. I can still do so but choose not to do so.

bay’s overall reputation with the general public is in serious decline. A company cannot engage in egregious actions towards its own sellers- including the purges of thousands of them in recent months- without experiencing a major negative publicity fallout.
