The threads on Discussion Boards at ebay show case after case of unhappy, dissatisfied sellers announcing their departures from ebay to start selling on other online selling sites. What on earth is going on at ebay that's causing this defection?

The unwarranted 21-day Paypal holds, the increased selling fees on the backhand, etc., etc.

A couple of accidental dings by a buyer not knowing how to leave DSR ratings (and not understanding how ebay uses them against sellers) can knock a seller out of top rated Seller status and then ebay starts charging them more as items sell.

The top brass at ebay already realize that ebay has run its course. That's why they are trying to thrust the new Global Shipping Program on sellers. How long it will take investors in ebay stock to figure out what's going on is the real question.

Ebay sets unrealistic expectations that sellers are supposed to meet, then penalizes them if they can't.

A lot of other online selling sites are picking up steam as sellers leave ebay and migrate to them. Among them are Bonanza, Addoway, ebid and Hulobu.

I'm very glad I got out of there when I did (about 3 months ago). I'm doing very well on Etsy.

Because most likely those sellers are crooks/scammers
and the buyers/ebay are on to them, so they have to pack up and go else where to find new prey. JMO

I like really really want to order some nail polish from China on ebay but I'm afraid Pitney-Bowes might break it before it gets here. Anybody here able to weigh in on Global Shipping?

My paypal account is impeccable....yet eBay finds it necessary to put holds on it.

It's exactly this type of thing- ebay slapping unwarranted holds on sellers' PayPal accounts- that is driving sellers away from ebay.

Ebay's flawed DSR system is contributing to the loss of small sellers from the ebay site.
