Amy pays more attention to her dance team than her regular students, as the dance team members are very rude and acting goody goody to everyone. I am glad we left at the beginning of the year this year, cause for the past few years I have watched poor excuses be made, and watched past students arrive at the studio and she took her time to talk to them, than the students in the class room. They believe that when they arrive the dancing stops for them, as they believe they are the best dancers Amy has ever had. Last year at recital she let two of the past dancers dance, which I felt took away from the dancers of that year, and the seniors of 2008. My child begged me to remove her. And now we are at a much better place. Also don't trust the employees in the office. They are non worthy. Don't trust talking to anyone in that studio as they all are backstabbing people. And if you are on team you are NOTHING. But then I would not want my child to be on team there, and grow up like the nameless team members I have seen the past three years, and the way they act, and treat others as they are below them. And if you are not in the group of Kacies/Casey's or Marisa you are NOTHING. Amy get a clue... I watched alot of people leave.. Fix the problem or shut down.
You sound like a very jealous, disrespectful, and bratty ex-client. I know Amy. I know her family! She is a very compassionate, loving, caring, giving person. Every dancer recital I have EVER seen was very professional, well ran, and entertaining......if AMY was such a bad instructor, how could her shows be so tremendous????? And if Amy is such an anorexic, awful dance instructor, why do her past students love her so much. I am not going to slam YOU personally in any way because you obviously have a very big chip on your shoulder and there will be no telling you anything! Right now Amy and her family are GRIEVING in the loss of her sister Trudy......have the decency to say a PRAYER for her and her family!! And I hope you are very happy with your new instructor, I think Amy and the whole dance studio are better off also!

Tami,
Your points are good, and everyone is does have their opinion.. Jealous, no.. Disrespectful, no.. Bratty, no that is a childs word. I am glad you know Amy, do you go to her studio, or to any competitions? She is compassionate and maybe too much that her students run the studio more than ever. I never said her shows were not good, or your words tremendous. Do you dance there, do you have a student there? Things can be totally different from the inside out. I have no big chip, I pointed facts out while being a "client" at her studio. Why has her attendance dropped so much? I did not say her student didn't love/like her either. Past students or new students. My post was made before the death of her sister, which I too knew about. I am glad you spoke your opinion.. It feels very well getting it off your chest too..

You honestly have nothing better to do than write slander about Amy Peel like some immature high schooler. You go from site to site posting the same thing. Just because you had one bad experience doesn't mean the dance studio itself is terrible. I danced at Amy Peel Dance Avenue for over 14 years. Amy has trained many professional dancers in the short 16 years that the studio has been open. Her students have become successful in LA, Las Vegas and around the midwest. I have watched Amy take her dream of becoming a dance instructor and turn her dream into a reality by becoming a national award winning dance studio. I strongly suggest this studio. Amy cares about each and every one of her students, and hires top notch choreographers and staff. She creates a strong bond within her studio, and those that know her best agree that she is one of the most caring, compassionate and down-to-earth people you will ever meet. Students travel from all across the state just to take classes from her. I personally used to travel 40 minutes each day to take everything from tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, acro, and hip hop. So please stop slandering Amy and her studio. She means the best and does the best she can.

So everyone has an opinion. Not everyone has to like something that have heard.. Some points from everyone is very justifiable.. I have too witnessed many things, and much of what is stated in the messages.. You can't deny something you witness. However Jgrubb when was the last time you were at that studio and danced? Because I can relate to things not being as they were a few years ago. Things change.. People change.. Working where I do, this is not slander its considered an opinion. People can say what they want, to a degree. And if it wasn't for internet sites that leave it open for people to post, you would never know anything. You can't stop people from posting feelings and thoughts, whether they are true or not.. That's why it's out there, whether it be blogs, sites like My Space and Facebook, or simple sites as this one. For some reason 3 individuals decided to write things. And after looking at the site suggested, what about those that posted about the rude people saving seats and stuff. Everyone has an opinion. I know many years Amy did care, not saying she don't now. But I think in the past several years it's clear that focusing ONLY on certain people, and certain dances is apparent. What about the regular classes, they need instruction just as much as her competitive team. There was a time that it was very entertaining to watch her studio, but there now is a time, a time that things have changed. And maybe it was not directly Amy that ruined it for everyone, but the students that left those bad impressions on my child, and others. The ones that showed no respect but seemed to get away with things all the time. I was there couple years ago, getting ready to leave the studio as I watch two girls (favs) yell and scream at another girl out in the parking lot. They basically waited for her to get done with dance. That is not what I want to teach my child, that's it's ok, the instructor knew and nothing happened to them. People have eyes they see things, they have ears they hear things. They can judge on their own to what happens is right or wrong.

Thank you Barbara.....nicely said. It's cowardly to hide behind a blog!! Sounds to me like you are a habitual complainer, after reading that you are going from site to site saying the same things! You are so right you have every right to your opinion. It is just a cheap way of doing it on a web-site, where you HIDE behind your secretive blog NAME!!! What are you teaching your child by these postings?

My mother has no sign in name, so what she uses is her business.. And I am aware of what she has written. It was my decision to leave. And she is not a coward, she has spoke to Miss Amy, so did I buy writting her a letter. She decided that how I was feeling and what I said was not a problem, and was not important, and it was too bad because she ignore my feelings and no changes were made. I felt my junior year should of been. She does not complain. She is getting something off her chest. At least she says what she means, because the parents complained and tore the studio down but never went to anyone in regards to it. And if it's a cheap way of doing it, what about you reading the blogs, the interest captured you didn't it? And you responded. And everyone else that continues to read and post, of course people will respond.. Even those that don't know anything in regards to the studio, they just post to keep it going. And BTW being that I am an honor student on my senior year.. The correct spelling is Ridiculous..

I actully dance at APDA right now and she is very nice and understanding. All of what you sayed is a lie Amy really cares about every one and the only reason why she brought back Kacie and Kacie is because they love her so much and she loves them and they wanted to be back on stage. The reason why she has student teachers is to prepare them for the near future to be a leader. The Dance Team really doesn't make a difference because I am on the team right now and everyone on and off the team is treated equally. If you are not in a group with Marisa you are still someone there you are supposed to make friends on your own. Got any questions REPLY.

I think that is NOT at all true!!!! Amy and her whole family are VERY LOVING AND CARING PEOPLE! Amy is not at all how you explained her. And her dancers are not BACKSTABBING JERKS!!!!! And also Amy peel wood cares for all her dancers----not just team dancers. I still dance there and am loving every minute of it!!! You don't have to like or love it ,but most people do!!!
I LOVE YOU AMY!!! AND I LOVE YOUR STUDIO. I AM HAPPY RIGHT WHERE I AM AT!!!!!!!!!!

I know some people have their own opinions and everything buuuuut... Amy and her family are very good people. They are loving, caring, and have good hearts. Amy Peel Dance Avenue is not a poor, dirty place! Anyone who must think that is wrong!!! Amy is a good healthy lady. Amy does not focus only on the team dancers---she shares everyone's attention equally. I'm sorry if you don't like or love Amy Peel Dance Avenue but that's your fault not ours. I think you should not be going around giving facts about our studio when it is not at ALL true. I am dancing at Amy's for 6 years now and have never had a problem with it. And if I would have a problem with it I wouldn't drive 1 and a half hours for 4 days a week. I LOVE Amy and her whole family very much!

I totally agree with Dancer97 me and her are really good friends. We talk all the time. The first time I walked in the doors to APDA i felt really loved and cared for especially from the teachers. The student teachers there are awesome and most of them are older in high school and they are nice and awesome dancers. When your invited onto team it is like holding an award but it really doesn't make a difference if your on team or not. The only thing that is different between them two is that one of them you compete which is really awesome and exciting. But I am at the studio every minute of my life and I am loving it no matter what. Drama is sometimes at the studio but when the music turns on we always get over it. Amy and her family have been through a tragic loss with Amy's sister Trudy and all of us at the studio are depressed and we are all helping Amy get through it. Amy tries not to give her kids special treatment at the studio because he and she are her kids and she is doing a good job at it. All my friends at school cheer me on when it comes to dance because i hated the other studio I was at there the team was the only thing that mattered to the owner. Everyone at APDA loves each other and each recital is a hit. Everyone of the recitals that I've danced in at APDA have been awesome and I wish that I could have stepped out of my shell earlier. I love APDA and everyone in it.

P.S. I have been dancing at APDA for 3 years now and I know and Love everyone there and they all now me and I even have to take the bus with a crazed stalker on it to get to dance because my mom can't get out of work. If I wanted to leave the studio I would have done it already because the bus stalker. Everyone has there own Opinion and Mine and Dancer97 and anyone else at APDA will agree we are not poor there we do not dance with dirt around us we don't really care where we dance. All we care about is that we are dancing and we are together no matter what.

I came across this blog trying to get to the studios website. I am in shock over the negativity published. My daughter is in her 3rd year dancing for APDA, everyone has always stopped to answer our questions and has been nothing but welcoming. My daughter is 4 and loves Miss Amy. She started at the age of two and Miss Amy has since then been one of her most favorite people in the world. I just wanted to say that we have had nothing but a positive expierence at APDA. Amy is only one person and from what I can see is a wonderful role model for her students, teachers, and staff. As parents we need to remember that role models can only do so much. Children, young teens, and young adults can sometimes not handle situations the best way. We need to constantly remind ourselves that we need to give our children the best guidence we can. It is not up to Amy to raise our children. I have always been very impressed by Amy's honestly regarding her own personal struggles. We all have them, so before you go pointing fingers, maybe look at what you could have done differently to take an unhappy situation and turned it into a learning expierence and grow from it. As for the dancers returning once they have graduated from High School....I love to see them come back, look at it this way..from what I've seen maybe dancers need a little breather and an extra intermission for them backstage is beneficial. Those that return are obviously very talented and graceful. Amy can only do so much there too, not everyone will be as graceful, coordinated, natural, or the best. Come recital time, I'm sure Amy and her staff are their biggest critics on themselves, I couldn't imagine pulling off what I have seen Amy, her teachers, staff, and our dancers do. I find it really sad that past dancers were named on this blog. It's part of life that there will always be those that shine brighter and that's ok. Love your child for who they are and don't try to make them into something they are not. I've said my peace. Miss Amy we love you, continue doing what you were born to do. You can not make everyone happy. As for backstabbing in the waiting area, if its going on you don't need to be sitting there, walk the mall. For those that are backstabbing, please be role models for our children, you never know what ears are listening. Our children do as we do.

I'm sorry but reading this honestly reminds me of high school girls talking about other girls. If you have a problem with Amy or the studio then maybe you should talk to her about it and not post it on the internet. Amy is human just like the rest of us. She makes mistakes just like i'm sure you have too. As for the team girls thinking their better than everyone else that is definately not true. Maybe some of the dancers can be like that but just because of what one dancer does something it shouldn't reflect on everyone. Sure I've had my differences with people there but I've also met some really amazing people there that I know I'll be friends with for a very long time and they would always have my back. I'm sorry that you have such negative feelings toward the studio and as you said that's your own opinion but sometimes you have to learn to keep your opinions to yourself.

I'm not here to change your opinion, I am trying to get you to grow up. Your daughter had a bad experience- big deal! It does not in anyway effect the studio as a whole nor should it effect anyone else's opinions about the studio. It's not even worthy of a blog post. You think you are the first person to ever have a bad experience at a dance studio? What about all of those girls who switched to Amy's after not liking the studio that they were at before? Give it a rest- and tell your daughter not to get involved in this mess- you created it.

Wow I agree you mom's sound like your in high school. I've been dancing at Amy's for 11 years and am on team. She is probably the most kind person I know. She is not just a dance teacher, she is a best friend; as well as Amber. You can go to her for anything and she will surely try to help. I was in the regular classes and I think she spends equal time w/ both team and regular classes. And you think Amy died. Seriously guys, get your facts straight, Her sister died just to clarify that one. I feel included at the dance studio w/out a doubt. And moms you dont dance there, you don't know as much about Amy as us dancers do. And I would recomended Amy's to anyone. And "Terrible Studio" get a life; dirty dishes; Have you ever actually been in the studio!?! I'm there like 4 or 5 times a week and I never see dirty dishes. Talk to Amy yourself how immature can you get? The internet seriously. The way you are speaking about Amy and this studio breaks my heart. But think whatever you want; if you are going to be this immature we don't want you.

This Breaks My Heart. Reading Some Of Those THings Makes Me Seriously Sick. I Love Amy And Amber With My Whole Heart And Everyone At The Studio Amy And Amber Are Both Loving, Gentle, Kind And Helpful People. They'll Always Be There For You Whether You Know It Or Choose To Believe It Or Not. Going Here For My 9th Year Has Changed My Life, And I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way. I've Said My Peace. I Love You Guys So Much. Keep Your Heads High And Dont let Stupid Stuff Like This Take You Down (:

Much Love.
