"Sound conservative principles" like having the government make my reproductive decisions for me?
Doesn't sound very "small government" to me!

Thompson hasn't got a chance - even HE isn't optimistic.

"We're going to have to take those sound conservative principles that we've always believed in, and have a candidate who can take those conservative principles, stick to them and still get independent minded folks to vote for them," he (Thompson) said.

And once I'm elected, then we're going to repeal the 13th, the 15th ,19th, and the 21st Amendments to the U.S. Constitution and make everyone go back to living like it's 1860...

First, I love the media spin- Pro-Life is "Anti-Abortion." I've never seen a newspaper report that says "Pro-death" or "Anti-life."
Second- conservative values do mean small government- but apparently liberal means no government for the very small- the unborn children.

Talk about pandering to the lowest common denominator. Out of all of the issues we face as a nation domestically and internationally the abortion issue would have to be at or near the bottom of the list. The Republicans love to trot this out along with gay marriage to rally the Christian voters as they have little else to run on now that their fear tactics no longer pack a punch. Personally I am against abortion, but the right to make that choice should be left up to the individual and their doctor, not the government. Whatever happened to the conservative philosophy of keeping government out of our lives?

Difference of view. If one cannot protect the most innocent of the citizens of the US, what faith can we have that they will help those that are in need of shelter, food and protection.

The unborn are not protected in what should be the safest place (their mothers womb, under a beating heart), they are ripped from that haven and killed.

Why are you against abortion? If it is because you believe it is the killing of an innocent, then how can one logically say it is okay for someone to have the choice to kill an innocent? I am against the intentional murder of innocence, and I am against another's choice to intentionally murder an innocent person. I have never understood the logic of that statement.

Not sure why this would be at the bottom of anyones list.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that you support the war in Iraq and are against welfare programs for unwed mothers.

Wrong. I am against the War, against capital punishment and I am for helping the less fortunate.
