What a ridiculous concept! WOW!!!

Anyone who lives in Latrobe should nix this ASAP!

A Police Chief is NECESSARY!!! A trained law enforcement official!!! How could it possibly be combined with a City Manager position or vice versa???

Does anyone suggesting this little brain child even have a clue what is involved in either position???

This would be so silly if it weren't actually being considered! I VOTE NO!!! Get your heads in the sunshine folks!!!

MINDY MINDY MINDY, now I said your name It seems that I hit a nerve or something and laud RICK for being willing to take a pay cut Next open City? Meeting I will pose the question hope that you are there to see me. Of course I will bring your post with me you said he is willing. I think that you do not get the point you are only willing to see what may happen to you Maybe you will have to shop at Walmart more often. Your all knowing husband who you are dead set on thinking he is the only guy for this job because has done things for the town he loves so much. You are a joke ! He should be mad at you go back to the kitchen and bake him some cookies or give him a back rub. Or maybe you can do some volunteer work. You will never get it you pompous ass. Latrobe needs to find ways to save money all options are open . The teachers are demanding a new contract and raise I am sure you are in the THINK OF THE CHILDREN crowd .I really do not think that combineing the 2 jobs will work because even if it becomes one job it would only be a year or two before the new job of asst. would be needed and most likely would cost the town even more.Keep your mouth shut for your husbands sake. It would be nice if your husband is willing to take even a small pay cut we will see soon. You said it I will ask it SHUT UP IT LEAST YOUR HUSBAND HAS SOME CLASS !

Latrobe Tax Payer...whatever are you on about???

That was a rant if I've ever seen one! Why would you use this forum to personally attack and so unoriginally, another person who posts in this arena???

Isn't this supposed to be an exchange of ideas??? Why do you think it necessary to bring everything down to that level???

Please dear! If you have something to say about an issue regarding Latrobe, please post it. If you have a personal vendetta against someone else who has posted, please...park it at the curb and deal with it personally!

Unfortunately, some on here, do not not know how to support or reject an idea in a civilized way. I didn't know it was a crime to support your own spouse and their job ethic. I didn't know it was a crime to defend one's position on something either when they are so rudely being attacked.
Instead of personally attacking the poster, state your point and leave it at that!

Maybe city council should re-evaluate the revitalization secretary position, who earns a mere $45.000 year salary, but does not even know how to complete grant forms, which IS her job, but instead has the City Manager do this for her.

So not only does the current city manager do HIS job, he is helping Annette Couch do hers!

The fish always stinks from the head...but his wife did inherit money, too, so let's just ask for an investigation and see what comes out of it.

Who is this person, and what is her job description? and how long has she been employed with the town of Latrobe?

She sounds like someone to axe off of the budget, tomorrow!

The revitalization chairperson is not paid for by the city. The PA downtown center supplied a grant that pays her salary. In addition, grant applications, under the main street criteria must be filed by the City. The idea is that the City and the Revitalization progrom work hand in hand, a concept that I understand in the past has been foreign to this City. The revitalization Committee has done an excellent job. The Farmer's Market is extremely successful. There is a Redd-Up Latrobe Committee of students cleaning up alleys, the train station. They have had several successful historic church tours for history buffs. They were instrumental in getting the coffee beanery downtown, which is a great place in the heart of downtown. 2 businesses to date have been approved for funding to improve their frontal facade. All through grant money. Learn the facts, folks...

Are you kidding me? Because someone has three nice vehicles... has worked for the last 28 years, lives in a very modest home, yet there is somehow a question on HOW can HE afford this? He must be stealing from the city????? Get real people! I don't think it is anyone's business, as I have stated before, on HOW this man spends his EARNED income.

HAHA i'm just going over dates here and Renee claimed she didn't know about topix until after the 9/13/10 council meeting her first post was on 9/23/10 as far as i can see right now from this thread being resurrected. But yet it was in the paper on 9/7/10 about them wanting to change things and get rid of Stadler. Seems something along these lines was in the works way before Renee even brought it to anyones attention unless i am missing something.

They're not merging the positions. That sounded like a poor idea from the start. They just hired a new police chief and they'll be seeking a new city manager.

How's the Revitalization Program "alley clean-up" going?

What seems to me is that a lot of "funding" gets distrubted to groups that never keep anything going, and never follow-through with their promises:

-----The prime example of "pocketed" funding that never went anywhere is the Llyod Avenue "revitalization" program, where each home owner had a chance for $40,000, in a no-interest or low-interest loan or even grants; and guess who ended up getting funding? local contractors, who did nothing, and Adelpoi Village, which built some Section 8 housing.

-----That whole section of real estate should have been leveled, and the families relocated!

Christ! No one in Latrobe seems to have a memory as to what was approved, what was funded, who's in charge of what? who's getting paid to do what?

I lived away fro 25-years, and I "remember" what's going on, and I can "see" the waste, and I only came home for 3-week visits.

Now, I live here, and I can't believe the waste, and that people just accept it!

WAKE UP LATROBE!
