My parents loved Jimmy Stewart. I am 68 but barely remember him or his movies. His generation is passing. How do Roy Rogers museums fare these days?
Why not auction off all the wonderful memorabilia in the Indiana County museum (use Sothebys?) Use the money to help real people who are having trouble paying their real mortgages today. Why not folks from Indiana County? What better way to promote the spirit of Jimmy Stewart and "It's a Wonderful Life"?
A lot of money could be raised and a lot of people could be helped in this way. I think Jimmy Stewart would celebrate this expression of the values he held dear in his lifetime.

Shut the museum down! Waste of space and a waste money. James Stewart did not give a crap about this town. I understand he was a famous actor but does that justify having a whole museum dedicated to him in Indiana? Every small town USA with a hometown actor does not need one of these. I say let's just open a corner of the historical society building or library and have a Jimmy Stewart display there... FOR FREE.

A museum dedicated to Jimmy Stewart who was also a world war II veteran is an excellent idea.

Also, most people who are having trouble paying their mortgages are people who bought this huge homes that were not within their budget and ran their credit cards up with purchasing frivilous items. We shouldn't bail out people or companies who mismanaged their finances...We have millions of non profit organizations to help people in need including churches...

He never came back. It was almost as if he was ashamed of his hometown roots. He could of come back and offered hope to aspiring young high school want to be actors. Please, that clown gets enough recognition already. Focus on free acting clinics, work with youths in high school to develope a love for the arts. Forget Jimmy, because he forgot about this area a long time ago.

Clown? You are an idiot. Mr. STEWART flew over 28 combat missions during WWII in addition to being an academy award winning actor. He gave back to Indiana in more ways than you can possibly imagine and he did so without anyone even knowing about it. How dare you! How is your life going......LOSER?
