Unbelievable! A roadside mom & pop dive that utilizes their local sheriff's department to run license plates so that they can send someone a bill for $5.00 for using their bathroom. I sure hope they enjoy their brief moments of fame on the national news. As someone who travels often and makes it a point to give my dollars to local establishments instead of large chains, I will certainly pass on The Flood Zone. Residents of Erin and the surrounding community should do likewise. "The Management", as the bill shown was signed, must have been having a bad day or simple be a bitter, hateful individual. Either way, they should have thought before they acted. It appears to me that they cut off their nose in spite of their face. Yes, you got some FREE publicity but at what price when it comes to customers and POTENTIAL customers. If I was a citizen of the county in which Erin is located, I would also be questioning why the sheriff's department is running license plates for things such as this. If a citizen has an issue on this same property, the sheriff's department would tell them there is nothing they can do, it's private property. I hope citizens and local customers question both their sheriff's department (it's your tax dollars being wasted) and this, so-called, business about such hatefullness and ignorance.

You hit right on the ignorance part.YOUR IGNORANCE!!!
The whole story is......
Woman(local who has caused trouble) comes in,and acts like she is going to order food.
Woman says she has to wash her hands before she can order.
Woman is in bathroom for appx. 20 minutes and comes out.
Woman says she has to see what people in the car want.
Woman leaves.
WOMAN LEAVES BEHIND A PLUGGED TOILET!
Plugged with hand towels!!
It looks intentional.
Five dollars is cheap compared to a vandalism charge!
Notice no one on the news has told this part of the story!!!
Why?Cause they sell comercials!!The news does not give crappola about the whole truth!
Notice how the "news" did not interview the TOILET VANDAL!
All you entitlement whiny babies think America is a free ride.

The law says that certain kinds of businesses MUST provide a toilet for CUSTOMERS!!
Got it???CUSTOMERS!!!!

Hooray for the Flood Zone restaurant!

If the lady plugged up the toilet then how come the business owner wouldnt except the money? She came back and tried to pay the bill and the owner said NO. I have a hard time believing someone would vandelize the bathroom with the county sheriff sitting inside eating. And lets say she was suspected of vandelism. The sherrif cant just run the tag number and give her name and address to the victim. NO! We live in a country where you are innocent until proven guilty. If a crime is committed then by all means investigate and if she is found guilty then make her pay. This was a minor thing but it is an abuse of power by the sheriff. He has no business giving out peoples address to anyone. We live in the age where idenity theft happens several times a day. And I dont want the people that are supposed to be protecting me giving out my personal imformation. Now, I dont think the Sheriff should be prosecuted. But I do hope he has learned his lesson and that he stresses to his deputies that this is wrong and it will never happen again.

Hey idiot, BEFORE you jump to calling someone else ignorant, you might want to review the news report. The "toilet vandal", as you put it, WAS interviewed. It was the cowardly owner/co-owner/manager who refused to be interviewed. Please brush up on your knowledge of a situation BEFORE you troll and act like an ass. Much inbreeding in Oregon?(Just attempting to give you a legitimate excuse for your ignorance)

That's BS. Just because they only take cash is THEIR choice, not because they don't want to pay taxes. If they didn't want to pay taxes and didn't, it would quickly be found out and shut down. I know of a few places that only accept cash. It's what their business has decided to do. You cannot elude taxes that way, dummie.

While I don't agree with their choices, I don't advocate for them to leave simply because they provide jobs and revenue. I'm not sure, but I don't think that area can afford to lose tax revenue and jobs.

credit card companies charge 3-6% from owners who accept credit cards as a form of payment (debit cards fall under this too).

keep that in mind the next time you use your plastic. it's likely why markup is so high on certain things.
