Amnesty International visits Texas detention center after immigrants complain about conditions

CHRISTOPHER SHERMAN | Associated Press Write
A team from Amnesty International visited the nation's largest immigrant detention center and reported that detainees there face numerous obstacles to arguing against deportation.
Well they certainly managed to avoid the obstacles to illegally sneaking into this country, didn't they? What the hell do they expect now, a free ride to the American city of their choice? Deport every one of them tomorrow - problem solved.
The most common complaints included a lack of review of detainees' custody, the dearth of legal assistance, frequent transfers from one facility to another and mistreatment by guards.
Well cry me a river. If they had stayed in their own country where they belong then they wouldn't be enjoying three hots and a cot courtesy of the American taxpayer. Deport every one of them tomorrow - problem solved.
Reynolds said Amnesty International plans to follow up on complaints, but at this time cannot demonstrate abuse.
Yeah but you'll find some way of faking that abuse, won't you, Sarnata? Deport every one of them tomorrow - problem solved.
An Associated Press investigation published in March showed that more than half the approximately 32,000 people detained in the federal immigration system had no criminal conviction and some 10,000 had been detained longer than the 31-day average stay reported by ICE.
Wow, an "Associated Press investigation" found that some inmates had been detained longer than the "average stay"! Well, Christopher, here's a basic lesson in statistics which you are free to share with your fellow "journalists" there at Asinine Press:

If you take the _average_ of group of numbers then some of those numbers will be lower than that average and (drum roll, please) some of them will be HIGHER than the average.

You needn't thank me for providing you with this stunning flash of mathematical enlightenment. Any fourth grader could have told you the same thing.
