Academics and the ability to obtain an education is a win win in being a competetive and prepared city, state, and nation. The sorry state of GOP which mistakenly believes education is only for the few and select types of people they choose to cater to is undermining the ability to compete globally. It all starts with education and successful investments in improving teaching skills (not every genius knows how to transfer knowledge), outcomes in the classroom (repetetive high failure rate classes are red flags that the teacher is not transferring knowledge successfully and needs to improve their methods and performance and outcomes regarding students).

There needs to be focus on academics not just buildings and overbearing bureaucracy. Improving educational outcomes is the key to success. Knowledge is power and a profitable one too. The attitude regarding education needs to be overhauled, it is still in the crony dark ages.

It's not the teacher...it's the student. Classrooms are full of young adults who think they know all and have a disregard for authority because their parents negleted to properly discipline them. The fault squarely lies on the parents' shoulders. Once they become proactive in their child's education then you will see improved educational outcomes.

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Aquarius

Yesterday you had a good control over the workings of your mind, but sadly that isn't the case today. Instead, your thoughts are wandering in every direction except the one you need to concentrate on. The result will be a sense of being disconnected from what's going on around you and possibly even a dreamlike quality to the day. Don't make any decisions while you're like this.
