Independence Schools Take Over Struggling Children's Center - WDAF

The bad economy was forcing a children's center in Independence to consider shutting its doors for good, but a new and unique partnership will now help keep the center open.

The school district doesn't really care about Sunshine Center or the children they serve. Their main concern was getting their hands on the nice new building that Sunshine Center built.

I don't believe the school district doesn't care about the kids - they do and really if Sunshine eliminated some of their "directors" maybe they could have remained on their own. They got too big for their britches when they closed a smaller building, remodeled another and then shut the doors to the one on the square. The new building is not even in Indep dist. and is way out there as are their fees. I hope they can cut some costs and pass it on to the parents.
