I was planning on attending SBI in May 2013 for the ultrasound program. After reading all these reviews I am unsure if this is the right place for me to go. I was planning on attending SBI in White Plains, NY. If anyone has had a good/bad experience if you could email me [email protected], Thanks.

They also say that the SBI in White Plains, NY is accredited? Do they just lie about it or is this true? The CAAHEP website says that this school has accredited programs.

I just graduated fr: Fenton SBC in August of 2012 w/ a 3.5 gpa & only missed an est. total of 12 hrs. while attending. I'm currently unemployed & have also found that the Career Services Center isn't as much "help" as they claim. The majority of the instuctors were great, I really appreciated them, but I just recently learned that the mass of SBC locations are closing across the country. We were told we'd receive alumni benifits but they can't provide almuni benefits if the majority of the locations are closing...what use are the benefits if I may have to drive 3+ hrs. to get to an SBC location?!? My largest complaint regarding Fenton SBC is that the entire time we were all in classes, we had more than a few issues w/ the financial aid dept.- they prefer to give incorrect answers, no answer @ all or just give you the run around until you basically gave up! Another note, we were receiving "stipends" on THEIR sanford-brown cards (the only way we could get our leftover school/loan money every 5 wks.) & you would think as soon as we graduated that the card would expire or you could call/e-mail someone to immediately cancel...NOT! I'm still receiving e-mails to my personal account, regarding this card, telling me that I owe them & the website provided has absolutely no direct contact information whatsoever...its just sad that our government allows such a business to exist w/ no consequences over treatment of consumers or the level of education that they are providing across the board. SBC is not an accredited college & none of their credits will transfer.

I don't seem to be getting any farther with this supposed class action lawsuit than I did with SBI. It's been around two years and I can't see where I'm any farther along now than I was when I got involved with this. How 'bout the rest of yall? Has anything been accomplished at all?

I attended SB......Tampa,Fl Pharmacy Tech program.....My experience was awesome...Many of the instructor's there are not anymore....There has even been a change in the president of the School...So the negatives..... about this school is unnecessary.......I recently graduated 7/2012.....Career Services did exactly what they was suppose to do in finding work....I built a relationship with career services...when I had interviews...I made sure my resume was updated....I went to job fairs anything necessary so that I could get a job...not so career services could get a job for me....there is a difference...Four months later I had a job!!!!I must admit it didn't pay much...but hey it was I worked this job and still applied other places..... not settling for just any old job...because pharmacy is my passion...I took this job only as a notch in my belt....and to become familiar with the field.....with no certification....two months later...I was offered another job with a prominent pharmacy in the area.....paying 13.00 an hour...yes...did I say that I wasn't even certified.... make a long story short.....I am proof that if you apply yourself you can and will get far....the negative reviews were the same one I read before I started SB.....but I decided I wanted this for myself and its the best decision I have made for my life.....I hope this post serves as an inspiration to someone out there...The impossible is possible........

I would like to go in on the class action law suit. I was completely mislead by this school. They are trying to get over $2,000 from me. I only went there for about 3 or 4 months before finding out they weren't accredited with why they needed to be and how they were a scam. I dropped out right after that. I want to get this money paid for and out of collections. Please contact me at [email protected] with any info on how I can get in on it.

What really burns me up is the fact that as of August 2013 , Sanford Brown Milwaukee is closing its doors. What this means to me is is I will not get any employment assistace. My references will be nearly impossible to contact and it doesnt look too keen that my degree comes from a school that folded. This leaves me with a sense of abandonment and great dissapointment. I only can hope that I will be able to find employment based on personality and skill. Not from the reputation of this school. I have invested a lot of money and effort. I am left drowning without a life preserver.

i just got a bill for 12,000 dollars after graduating 6 or 7 years ago. i was told that only about 900 was going to have to come out of my pocket(which i thought was paid) now i get my first bill a lifetime later? now i need to find a lawyer and it going to be a headache..all for a school that was a complete waste of time and a giant scam. only reason i signed up was bc they told me all my credits would transfer and it was nationally not ONE credit was able to transfer to any school. i found this out the hard way after i had already went through 3/4 or the joke of a program, 3.9gpa and didnt learn a thing.. its bad enough i wasted my time but to send me a bill out of the blue is crazy and ill spend 100,000 in lawyer fees before i give them a single penny.

Has anyone gotten new information on a class action lawsuit? The lawyers we had working on it decided they weren't going to do it. Any lead would be greatly appreciated. Ours would be for the SBI in Jacksonville Florida

Hello I also attended Sandord Brown for 2 years straight. I went in the Business Administration/Management degree program from 2006-2008. After I graduated I went to the school district to do substitute teaching and was turned away from the administrative. She told if my degree would've came from our community college they would accept it. I was upset about that incident. Shortly after that hazel wood campus was on the news & the credits weren't acknowledged by the state.

I have mixed feelings about SBI. I attended the Trevose-SBI twice. First for Medical Assistant, and later on for Medical Billing & Coding. I must say that I had a great time with both programs. I'm not saying that its a super great school, but I will say that "you get out of it, what you put into it".
*I graduated from the MA Program in 2005, and I wouldn't have passed the exam without the help from SBI. Since then I have taken refresher courses to keep up my RMA certification. I graduated from the Billing & Coding program in March 2012. The only problem that we had was that our instructors were changing all the time. And now I hear that the Trevose location is closing, and that kinda sucks.
*All I can say is that the school has been good to me, and good for me. Job-wise, there could have been a better effort made from the Career Services department, but they can only do so much. The school promises Job Placement, not job guarantees. The school can only get your foot in the door, but it is up to the students to maintain and keep the job.
*I don't think that the school is horrible at all. I believe that it depends on the individual. I have graduated with people that went on to take the CPC exam, passed with flying colors, and are now working as Professional Coders. But also in my graduating class are people that have spent more time bad-mouthing the school, rather than focusing on their studies.

Lisa & others,

It looks like it and I really hate to say this .. no lawyers going to take our cases. We are basically left in the dark.

I went to sanford brown in fenton missouri in 2008 and I was going into the medical assisting program. I had like 3 months left before I graduated and had to withdraw and move because sickness in my family. They told me my credits were transferrable so I could continue my education where I moved. I finally had gotten moved in and tried to start back in school to finish my degree and I was told my credits were nontransfrerrable. Then I recieved this student loan bill for $6,000. It wouldn't be so bad if I could use the credits but I feel like I am paying them for credits I can't use. If anyone has any information on how I can get those credits or what legal action I can take please email me at [email protected]
