Independence Celebrates Opening of New Arena

It was a huge day for hockey fans and the people of Independence as thousands of people showed up on Saturday for the grand opening of the new $67 million Independence Events Center.

I attended the Grand Opening of the new Independence Events Center this morning. This center is first class for the people of Independence and the Kansas City area. It has cushion seating which is awesome - NOT the hard seats you find at most places. And, in fact, the parking is FREE. Not the hassles you find at the Sprint Center.
I applaud those who brought this new events center to a great town.
