There were two girls. One girl was getting cpr from a parent who was there for basketball. During this time, other parents noticed that there was yet another girl in the pool who was or drowning. They got her out of the pool and CPR was started on her as well. One girl flown out to Wichita, the other was stable. Now the questions...Where were adults?, was there not lifeguard?, and why do parents think it's ok to just let their kids go in water unsupervised, especially when there were so many kids there. Accidents happen, and it only takes a second for the worst to occur. Prayers for both girls and their families, as well as for the kids who witnessed this.

Yes, there was a lifeguard. A very good one!
Prayer for the girls, families, kids that were watching this unfold. Also, prayers for the young lifeguard that also reformed CPR and is terribly shaken!
We parents sometimes forget how quickly accidents can happen. And this could happened to any of us!!!

It was a birthday party, it was also an accident. Geri is stable, they are watching her closely. we, both families, are at the same hospital. Alona is on life support, but not sure what else as they cannot give me any info because I'm not family. I know accidents happen, but we are praying for Alona to pull through. Both these girls need everyones prayers right now, so does all the people who were there that witnessed it and the people who performed cpr and the ones who pulled both these wonderful girls out of the water. Neither I nor the other girls parent stayed at the party, and unfortunatly, an accident did happen and now we are on the wait and see what happens now. Please pray everyone that these two sweet girls recover quickly.

Extra special prays to the girls & all the families. It can happen in a flash. I do know what the pool is like at the center & I just am confused how this happens with a Lifeguard there as they say & with probably a bunch of kids around. Where was everyone? Were the two swimming alone? I can't understand really. And someone wrote there was a very good lifeguard on duty. REALLY? God Bless the sweet girls. I am praying hard.

For some reason there is this misconception that lifeguards are psychic and able to predict a child in trouble before it actually happens. Unfortunately this isn't the case and all it takes is a split second for a child to slip under and panic sucking water into their lungs. It truly is amazing that in a time of a horrible tragedy that people look for someone to blame. Thats the nature of people i suppose. After something horrible happens they feel the need to try and find someone to blame to help relieve ones mind of the fact that there is nothing they can do to help. Fact is sometimes bad things just happen. Even with things in place to guard against it they can still happen. Sadly this was one of those times and the important thing now is to keep those involved, either that witnessed it or helped those girls and definitely the girls themselves, in your thoughts and prayers.

I agree...lifeguards aren't there to stop accidents from happening, they are there to handle the accident if one happens! Prayers for all involved!!

Please keep it to possitive posts. There are many people hurting here. That young lifeguard did exactly what trained to do. Whatever was done must have been the right thing because they are both alive currently and lets keep praying positively.... Life and death is always in the hands of God.

I understand that the lifeguard responded and began cpr to revive the child quickly. She should be acknowledged for her courage and ability to do as trained in such a frighting situation. For a teenager to perform as she did is remarkable.

Praying for the two young girls and their families. Also I work with the young lady that performed CPR on the girls. She is a very responsible, sweet young lady. I have only worked with her a short amount of time and I can without a doubt say she is very upset and hurting and is hoping for the best for these young girls. I pray that they both recover soon for the holidays. God be with you all!!
